Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

How good is LeBron. Geez. This is a team full of wounded misfits that couldn't amount to a bag of feces elsewhere, yet somehow they are on the verge of the finals. The guy truly makes everyone around him better - modern day basketball Midas touch.

He was doing that his first go round in Cleveland. Instead of being applauded for carrying an average bunch to the Finals he was criticized for not winning them. It reminded me of Elway early in his career when he dragged the Broncos to SBs and lost. He wasn't a better player when he won at age 37. He had a better supporting cast, just like LBJ in Miami.

Not sure this bunch can win it all without Love (and Irving less than 100%) but if the perimeter defense plays Golden State the way they're playing the Hawks they have a shot. That's the end of the floor where Cleveland is winning.

The funny thing is that it still doesn't feel like he is shooting all that well, but he's doing what he needs to and they have enough guys that can shoot to put points on the board. Defense has been great without Kyrie.

As a Cleveland-born kid that moved to Denver in my teens... FUCK ELWAY. FUCK THE BRONCOS. AND FUCK HIS SHITTY CAR DEALERSHIP TOO.

Anyway, ecstatic it's turned out this way so far... if they can finish in 4-5 while Kyrie heals that'll be a huge help.

Was anyone else annoyed with the commentary in this game? The poor Hawks were playing without Al Horford, Thabo Sefolosha, and Kyle Korver, who has been next to useless in this series, and the Cavs are without Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. Not to mention Anderson Varejao. I'm perplexed by the Webber/Miller Atlanta bias.

Meanwhile, the Cavs have impressed me. I think we all knew Atlanta would be fraudulent come playoff time, but I don't think many people expected Cleveland to dominate like this without Love and Irving. I think we're destined to lose to Golden State, but I'm proud of where this team is at right now. They could've laid down against Chicago, and yet here we are. I wouldn't be surprised to see Atlanta bring this to 5, but bring on the Warriors.

I think Tristan Thompson creates an interesting dynamic for this team. I think he'll wind up getting the max from the Cavs, and he has made major strides on defense. I wonder if the Cavs start he and Love next year, because that rebounding duo would be unstoppable. Perhaps you roll with that and pull Mosgov and Varejao off the bench, unless the matchup calls for something else.

I've been saying that this team would have a puncher's chance against Golden State, but that may not be giving them enough credit. With the improved team defense and if Kyrie comes back, they'll give GS a good fight.

Regardless of what happens, hopefully KLove and everyone else sees that this team could be really strong next year with everyone back and healthy.

After last night's game, I was just wondering how much home-court advantage really means in the NBA especially during the playoffs. I mean all of these guys have played in pretty hostile environments during their careers so I do not think that the crowd noise would effect any of them. In fact, playing at home might be a disadvantage because of the expectations and the fact that players are probably more on their feet during the day while at home then they are when they are on the road. I do not know maybe I am way off but I was just thinking about this last night during the game.

I think home court advantage applies more to the fact you get to stay in your own bed and don't have to travel than the playing a game in your own building
