Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Was anyone else annoyed with the commentary in this game? ..I'm perplexed by the Webber/Miller Atlanta bias....
Oh, I left perplexed in the first round.. then Round 2 I went to pissed... now in the Finals, I just hate the sons of bitches... don't need a homer but put someone in there that ATTEMPTS at being neutral

We need to do a loud SHOUT OUT to Frank Walker.. who has to be as pumped as he's been in his life after hearing last night

In the post game interview LBJ was asked how did he find out to share the ball vs being the best on the floor
LBJ says, first lesson he ever learned,, 1st time he picked up a ball in organized basketball as a 9 yr old
"Frank Walker (his coach) told us 'Team is bigger than any individual' .. we went undefeated and he knew I was the best on the team...
He gave everyone on the team the MVP and I learned from that"

Thank you Frank Walker

With Korver out it will be interesting to see how the Cavs shift defensively. I would guess Shump will move over to Teague more. Defense should be even better if they don't have to chase Korver with one of their best defenders.

Doesn't look like Houston is going to hold up it's end of the bargain in stretching out their series. They are getting thumped in Game 3. Is Golden State really that much better? I've never seen a team rely on the jump shot so much be so dam good.

They aren't the typical jump shooting team. They have the best defense in basketball. They scored the 2nd most points in the paint in the NBA, in part b/c their defense leads to transition offense.

I really can't see the Cavs beating them, but when you have LeBron there's always a chance.

After last night's game, I was just wondering how much home-court advantage really means in the NBA especially during the playoffs. I mean all of these guys have played in pretty hostile environments during their careers so I do not think that the crowd noise would effect any of them. In fact, playing at home might be a disadvantage because of the expectations and the fact that players are probably more on their feet during the day while at home then they are when they are on the road. I do not know maybe I am way off but I was just thinking about this last night during the game.

Home court means you play Game 5 and Game 7 at home. It may not matter much if you play like butt in the first two games, but when the series is actually competitive it's good to be playing those two games at your own place.

Several few factors play into that. Golden State is a great offensive team, but they were also first in the NBA defensively, and while the Rockets can play lock down defense, they struggle for long stretches and that's often the difference in playoff games.

Houston never should've gotten past the Clippers. The Clips were probably exhausted from that Spurs series, but Houston is exactly the kind of team that will be shut down in the playoffs. They run a lot of isolation plays, and as magnificent as Harden has been thus far, their run was always finite. Houston needed to get one of the first two games in Golden State, and they probably should have, because they played incredibly well.

I want to prepare all Cavs fans to hate Steph Curry by the middle of June. I think the Cavs can put Shumpert on Curry and hope Kyrie doesn't get destroyed by Klay Thompson, but Curry frustrates the hell out of his opponent no matter how well guarded he is. He hits shots that he has no business making. Shots with a hand in his face, blocking his view of the basket. He makes three or four of those a game. He's cocky, and the Oakland crowd loves him. So do the announcers. He's a great player, but he's not someone you want to play for a championship.

The Cavs were 1-1 against them this year. The Warriors beat the Cavs by 18 and the Cavs beat the Warriors by 11. That one win included Kevin Love spacing the floor, and LeBron dropping 42 on 15/25 shooting though. LBJ will need to close to that good four times for us to win. The Cavs will also need to get one, more likely two (accounting for GS getting one in CLE) in the toughest building in basketball. I don't see it happening.

If Love and Kyrie were healthy I think they'd have a damn good chance. Maybe even an outside shot if Kyrie somehow gets healthy to a level of maybe 80%. But if he's at 60% or completely unable to go like he is now, I just can't see it. The Warriors are just a completely different level team from anyone the Cavs have faced. Reaching the finals this year will still be huge though, helping to sell the team to Love and also experience for the younger players. But LeBron alone can't beat the Warriors. If Kyrie is essentially out and the Cavs win, I'd be ready to anoint LeBron as the greatest player of all time (assuming no significant injuries to GS in the process).

I agree. If the Cavs win, LeBron is absolutely the best player in NBA history. I hate that people aren't willing to put him in the conversation with Jordan.

I am with ya. But for some reason, I feel better about LeBron leading Maz, Shumpert, JR, Delly, Tristan, etc. than every other time we had LeBron and maybe Mo. Doesn't mean we win it all, just saying I am far from conceding shit. I just watched a team that nobody gave any chance to win national title win on a 3rd string QB. I m just enjoying the run for now regardless.

Granted, I obviously realize that GS looks tough to beat. But I am nowhere near thinking they are unbeatable.
