Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

1. Williams and Knight/Walker over Irving/TT? GTFO. Stupid.

2. Grant made the Orlando trade hedging that Howard would be gone and they would be pretty high in the second round. It's looking like Howard will move on so those high second rounders will be nice.

3. If you want to root for anyone to lose this season (beside the Cavs), make it New Orleans. They're close to the worst record in the league so that would be a nice pick having the first pick in the second round.

4. Realistically, they will probably pick around #8. The Knicks get Baron Davis soon and the Nets will get Lopez back also. Both will pass Cleveland in the standings. At #8, Robinson will be gone, as will probably, Drummond, Davis,Barnes, Perry Jones, Sullinger and maybe MKG, Lamb or Beal. A likely pick would be whomever is left between MKG, Lamb or Beal. Rivers will certainly be there but alot of people have lost interest in him (as a top 8-10 pick).

5. With any luck, one of the 2 early 2nd rounders will be a contributer off the bench or more.

6. Two, maybe three first rounders next year, if Sac can get a little better. They have some decent talent, but they also have JJ Hickson.

Only reason I brought Knight into the discussion was to say I'd take Knight over Walker, but in no way shape or form would I take him over Irving. Dude is sick and knows how to get to the basket!

I'd say even after only 15 games, he's already exceeded what I thought he could accomplish this season. He's smooth as hell.

Glad the Cavs FO did their homework on that draft! We'd never hear the end of it had we drafted Kemba Walker. All ESPN would talk about is, "is Kemba a bust?"

yah in hindsight...making that trade a few years ago would of been laughed about up until now

How about six weeks ago? Not looking at this with buckeye goggles, but objectively, Bj has always been able to score the ball. Almost all of his chance has come in the D-league. Regardless, he is a legitimate 7 feet with really long arms and can shoot the ball. About half the teams in the NBA don't have anybody that can do this. There is more to bball than shooting and many teams have resorted to using the center position as complimentary only. No offensive contribution. A second rounder in the nba is so valueless that taking a shot on a very young specimen(BJ) is almost without risk. Too bad it is the Bobcats seeing some reward instead of the Cavs.

Norris Cole had to stay on the court after the game to pick up his jock from the floor. It was never talked about that much (that I remember), but Irving has a wicked crossover.

Haven't been able to watch the Cavs much this year since they are seldom on for me. Just did a quick check of the PER for the players with meaningful minutes:

21.5 - Irving
17.3 - Varejao
16.1 - Jamison
15.8 - Sessions
14.4 - Thompson
<12.3 - Other

It's still early, but 21.5 PER in the rookie season is extremely high. For perspective, PER through the first three years of their careers:
Derrick Rose: 16.0/18.7/23.6
Westbrook: 15.2/17.9/23.6
Deron Williams: 12.4/17.2/20.8
Chris Paul: 22.1/22.0/28.4

Thompson at 14.4 is very good for a rookie as well.

Also noticed Hollinger currently has the Cavs finishing with the 10th worst record in the NBA.
