I'm with all of you who think we shouldn't have to add future 1st round picks if we're giving up Wiggins. When push comes to shove, would Minnesota really turn down a straight up trade of Wiggins for Love??? I'd be shocked. Golden State or someone else offering more is the only thing that would block that IMO.

I'm still against the trading of Wiggins, even straight up. Call me crazy, but I want to at least see how these guys do leading up to the trade deadline.

No such thing as a one for one trade. They have to include Bennett and the Utah guys to make the money work.

I realize there has to be additions to the trade for money reasons, but I'm speaking solely from the perspective of value. Obviously the Utah guys have no value, but Bennett definitely does. I thought it was possible to package Wiggins, the Utah guys, and Haywood to allow that to happen.

I am far more concerned - from the perspective of global climate change, economic stability, world peace, and the overall fate of the universe as we know it - with what would happen if Cleveland DID win a title.

From what I hear Haywood is much more valuable after the season. He's making 2 mil this year and 10.5 mil unguaranteed next year. That and a couple picks will get a good trade. He isn't going anywhere.

To answer your question I would value Wiggins on a full rookie contract as high as one year of Love if I was the Wolves, but they might like a trade with more players in case Wiggins doesn't pan out. I don't think this is a totally fair comparison, but if you were offered Blake Griffin back in 2009 if you knew Lebron wasn't going to sign with the Cavs would you make the deal?

1&2 just get tossed down the drain, needlessly, if the Cavs' front office goes all amateur hour on us when at the bargaining table with Minnesota.

How do they get tossed down the drain when you consider we can turn having the #1 pick into getting kevin love?...and drafting wiggins is lucky considering the last draft had minimal talent...you could say having #1 and #2 happen first, may have not led to #'s 3 and 4 even happening...#5 for sure

Because somebody is delusional. (Again I view this as a win either way... We have lebron James. But yeah... If you had a number 1 overall pick... And that guy is a top 10 player in the league, you win. Only difference here is cap hit... But in this life you pay for the sure thing sometimes)

To me this boils down to two camps. Those that think we should do everything to win now possibly sacrificing the future and those who think we should try to build a franchise similar to what San Antonio and win over a number of years...

I understand that both trade scenarios could end in either outcome...

To me it's a no brainer which camp you should be in...U just got the best player in the league THRU FREE AGENCY (I don't have to tell you how often this happens in cleveland), he is at the peak of his career...you have to win now...cavs management also Is in this camp as well because they realize the time to try and replicate a spurs type team is a wet dream

If I knew Lebron wasn't re-signing, I definitely would have taken Blake Griffin. Of course, I also would have hoped that the Cavs front office would get more than just Griffin (similar to what T-wolves fans think now).

That's what it's called when you could bargain your way into getting Love and keeping Wiggins, but you don't. It's all about context...
