Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

No different from Houston's offer (except 1more year and salary). Houston could have been stacked
For someone not like a LeBron, Kobe, Durant who have all kinds of endorsements, that one extra years is actually pretty big. It will be probably around 10M more than he will get in four years when his contact would've been up with Houston. And he also apparently loves the city of Miami itself.

I'm pleasantly surprised that most on here agree that we don't want to give up Wiggins for Love. Sure, that would give us a better chance to win over the next couple of years, but I'm not so sure about the long run. The Lebron/Wiggins combo is perfect to keep the Cavs relevant for the next 15 years. Lebron could very well start to taper off on his productivity when Wiggins is hitting his peak.

I actually like Waiters quite a lot and think Bennett could really surprise people over the next couple of years, but I guess you have to deal those two with a pick or two if you can snag Love.

I'd love to see the Cavs go after a good (but not elite) center like Brooke Lopez. He's had his injury issues and I don't know where he stands health-wise right now, but he's just an example. Prokhorov doesn't seem like the type to trade Lopez for future talent/picks anyway.

If Bosh had elected to sign with Houston he would have been leaving $32 million on the table.

Exactly. It the last time he'll have a chance at that kind of money. He's gotta take it while the gettin's good.

Miami didn't have much of a choice either. They have nobody on their roster. They have to at least pretend that they're going to try to continue to contend, and they have to be able to attract several more players.

Cavs summer league team taking on the Bucks on the NBA network. No startling revelations....Wiggins can be good but who knows hie good that is. I am completely underwhelmed by Bennwtt still.... The announcers are talking about him being in much better shape, but he still looks slow and overweight and makes some dumb, dumb decisions.

I do like Dellavadova and Will Cherry is fun to watch, but most of these guys are filler at best, especially the big men.

Jabari Parker is going to be just fine for Milwaukee.

Still would rather the Browns or Indians win a title.

So I make this statement not having watched the nba in 4+ years. Given that since entering the league he's only played in 9 more games than Diane ...why wouldn't we offer Irving instead do a trio of players and picks for some...probably not Love since they already have Rubio...maybe to Boston for Rondo?

I'm all for improving this team but we don't wanna make the same mistakes like the last time he was in Cleveland...not a reflection on Love .

This is Cleveland were talking about... I'm expecting something bad to happen in the first 2 years

Between Birdman, Allen, and Miller, it seems like the Cavs are just looking to become Miami North. I get that it worked for several years, but you'd think they'd try to find a younger version of these players - particularly Miller and Andersen. Allen I'd take 7 days a week even if he is a liability on defense.

Defense and floor spacing is the problem for the Cavs. They need a power forward or center who can shoot 3s and a rim protector. I'm sure they'd also like to add a few wing players who can shoot the 3. All in all I wouldn't be surprised if Wiggins, Bennett, Thompson, and Waiters are gone by this time next week. I also wouldn't be surprised if we had Allen, Andersen, Miller, and Love to replace them. I am wary of an Irving/Allen/LeBron/Love/Varejao starting lineup, though. Only LeBron and Varejao play defense, and Andy is old and constantly injured.

Free agent Mike Miller is close to a deal with the Cavs according to Fox Sports Ohio.

"Unless something unforeseeable happens, he will be joining us" said a team source. Miller will probably be on the same program he's been on for the past few years, with playing time concerns during the regular season as he gears up for postseason ball.

Been played out several times but would big Greg Oden be worth a flier for $1mil as a reserve this season? Seemed like his knees were in pretty good shape but the back spasms kicked in and he didnt get any playing time in the playoffs. If I were a team I'd get him a full time trainer and get him in the pool swimming for the next 3 months and see what he might still have. Just as a reserve mind you. Back in Cleveland, near his family both biological and OSU. They already have Andy and working on Love, plus it takes another option from Riley.

I don't mind BirdMan actually but he's going to cost a lot more and is on his downside as well.

All that and I'd really like to be able to watch a former Buckeye player in the NBA more often!!
