I think Hawes has to be the number one priority for the Cavs. He spreads the floor and can really help this team fill a void. I think Gortat, the Miami guys, Livingston, and Lowry are all out of the picture at this point. They have money and holes on the roster, so I'm excited to see what they do to improve.

No thanks to hawes. He's a major defensive liability. When Tyler Zeller has a much better +/- than you it's a bad sign.

From what I have read, there are two lines of reasoning on this offer:

1. The Cavs are very serious about getting a deep threat or;

2. The Jazz have said they will match any offer out there for Heyward. (They have three days to match). The Cavs are doing this to force Utah's hand on this offer sheet (rumored to be 4yrs/62M).

15M + per year for Heyward is VERY HIGH! I feel its #2. I hope the Jazz match!

I don't know anything about him. One way to look at it is that Utah said they would match any offer so you make them blow their cap matching and go after the next guy. On the other hand you don't offer that kind of contract if you don't want the guy on your team. It really seems like Dion won't be part of the team next season, but I would expect them to be spending money one a big.

I liked Hayward's game in college. I don't know squat about him as a pro. Looking at his superficial stats, 16-5-5 is pretty nice, but his shooting numbers have dropped each year, and he shot just .304 from deep last year. He seems to be pretty inconsistent...his 3P% since his rookie year has gone: .473, .346, .415, .304. Not sure how those numbers translate to $15M+/per, but maybe he's a good fit for the system Blatt wants to run?

Other thing to keep in mind with Utah is that they were horrible last year and Hayward was the #1 option. He was getting matchups and focuses that he would not get on the Cavs so I don't think the #'s necessarily translate with what he could do with the Cavs.

with that said, i have to imagine Utah matches and we may look at Parsons pretty quickly.

Least favorite, I would say, like, especially since I’ve been in the league, probably Cleveland. Cleveland to me is like Gotham City. It’s, like, so dreary, and just, I don’t know, and then ever since LeBron [James] left, I mean, the fans, they’re starting to pick up a little bit more, but I remember my rookie year, there was hardly anybody there.

So, that makes for a tough atmosphere when you have to go on the road, and you know, there’s absolutely no energy given to you, and there’s not even any energy in the building given to them, hardly either, so that’s a tough place to play.

Problem I noticed following him as he grew up in Indy and played at Butler- people continue to stress he bulk up and I think it affects his shooting the following year. "Oh you can shoot? Throw on some more weight kid and you'll be great!"...boom, bad year, followed by adjustment to his body. He looks stronger, but struggles with his shot. Why he hasn't just been accepted as a lanky, shooter ala Durant (no, not his level) is beyond me. And it's pure speculation that's the reason. Just an eyeball test I've seen with him year-to-year being local.

I do think he's a good player. No clue about NBA value overall. Jodie Meeks just got $20M so this life is beyond me at this point lol.
