Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I agree with @Piney .. if Philly wants Wiggins... we trade ...
Get a pretty good player... and with #3 take Embiid (yep.. risk.. which is what they said about Sullinger... but'd who'd like to have Sully now).. then package #10 with 2nd rounder for another NBA proven player... who knows, if Piney gets his 'wish' Phila has to throw in their unprotected #1 from next yr too

I agree, whatever the Cavs do, it will be the wrong move.

Draft Embiid... he becomes Greg Oden, don't draft Embiid and after sitting out a year he becomes an all defensive team center and becomes the best center in the league.

Pick Parker? Wiggins becomes a stud and Parker eats himself to a tweener that can't defend and fights with Irving/Waiters and if we pick Wiggins he just becomes the most athletic stiff in the NBA and Parker becomes Paul Pierce.

And it now looks like that Orlando trade if off, Afflalo going to Denver?
 Pretty much, this is the game we Clevelanders play...if they draft Parker he will be Shawn Kemp, if they don't he'll be Karl Malone. If they draft Wiggins he'll be Larry Hughes. If they don't, he'll be Clyde Drexler. Embiid, yeah, you covered that one, we take him, he's Greg Oden, we don't, he's Moses Malone...if we trade the 1 for 4/12, the 1 will become Larry Bird and the 4/12 will be Michael Olawakandi and Adam Morrison...If we don't, the 1 will become Kwame Brown and the 4/12 will become Kevin McHale and James Worthy...

Its funny... i dont follow basketball either College or Pros that much anymore... but I thought everyone was tanking for this draft because of Wiggins & Parker (both being the next Jordan/LeBron) based on hype.... now everyone is saying its a decent draft... where as the project was it was going to be the greatest since 84
Much of that hype began last fall. The consensus top-2 or 3 guys, Wiggins/Parker/Randle all had warts in their games exposed in college. Wiggins didn't come in and dominate every game like he was expected to, though some of that may have been a function of KU's system, and some are questioning his killer instinct. Parker showed a serious aversion to defense, and some question his conditioning. Randle appeared stiff at times and disappeared for long periods. Embiid emerged as the college season went on, but now there are injury questions. None of those guys are the slam-dunks many thought they would be, but they all have potential. This still looks like the best draft, talent-wise, since The LeBron, Wade, Melo, Bosh, etc draft that has ruined the league, IMO. Hell, last year's #1 might not even go in the lottery in this draft.

I still think Wiggins has the best ceiling given Embiid's injury questions. Parker's probably the safest bet, and most NBA ready, but I don't think he's the kind of player that carries a franchise to a championship. With him, I see best case you get Carmelo Anthony and his defense allergic fat ass. Worst case you get a malcontent who is one-dimensional and despite the gaudy offensive numbers, he hurts you more than helps because of all the other crap.

In other words, it's a crap shoot.

Looks like they're taking a last minute look at Exum:

That's probably a possibility if they trade out of #1. He's an intriguing prospect, but with Kyrie already here, would seem like an odd pick. But they might work together in Blatt's offense.

Exum refused to fly in for a last minute workout. I think if you trade down it has to be Embiid. I wouldn't mind Exum aside from the fact that I think he's a little overhyped and unknown. If we do draft Exum and he pans out, we could move him to PG because it's not like Irving is a true point anyway. I think there's flexibility moving Kyrie to 2 if the other guard isn't as ball dominant as Kyrie is. Exum can't really shoot, so having him at 1 and Kyrie at 2 is probably the best bet. The other team's point guard still guards Irving in that case because of Exum's height.

I don't understand everyone's problem with Wiggins. He averaged 17ppg in college, so it's not like he was offensively inept. His shot isn't great but he's not even 20 years old yet. And in our system he wouldn't have to be the first option, or even the second. Wiggins as your third option makes for a strong team on that end of the floor, and we know we need him defensively. Parker makes absolutely no sense on defense, especially with Thompson and Bennett on the roster.

Maybe I've been talking myself into Wiggins since before the season started, but I don't know how you put Parker on the roster with two other tweeners.

I'm with you on Wiggins. The dude wasn't a ball hog and still put up some good numbers. Everyone talks about Parker's offense, but I'll venture that Wiggins becomes the better offensive player in the end. It seems to me that a good scorer in the NBA has to be athletic enough to create his own shot, which is much more Wiggins than Parker.

Griffin says that he thinks Wiggins can succeed at SG in the NBA. It's getting crowded back there with Waiters, Wiggins, CJ Miles, Carrick Felix, and Joe Harris. I can definitely see the Cavs making a run at Love with some combination of guards, Thompson, and Wiggins. It's a bad move if it doesn't actually lure LeBron, though. Love, Irving, LeBron, a defense-first center, and a few shooters (like Joe Harris) would be an immediate title contender. I've got to think that Hawes and Deng are gone. Hawes is actually their best option at center next year if he isn't too expensive, but I don't see it happening.

The Cavs have also traded Alonzo Gee for Brendan Haywood and Dwight Powell (45th pick, PF, Stanford).
