I have no problem with doing that actually. You trade down and get some other assets so you can take a chance. Cuz really... even if Embiid doesn't scratch the surface of his potential due to injury, he will still be an above average to very good defender and rim protector. But... I really see him still becoming a very good player, it just might take 2-3 years to see it.
The way I see it, we were going to have the #9 pick... If you get out of this draft with Afflalo and #12 along with Embiid this is still a great draft for the Cavs. You build a team versus just a collection of players that you hope and pray can play together. That has been the problem with the Cavs under Grant. He just drafted players and didn't care if they fit together.
Parker doesn't fit this team... Wiggins does, but he is a risk too. Heck, the whole draft is a risk. Anyone can bust and anyone can become great.
