Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

And the draft day craziness has begun.

Chad Ford reporting via twitter that last night the Cavs were talking to teams offering Orlando's 4th and 12th pick... hmmm
Radio guys this morning were saying that is for players, meaning the Cavs are trying to figure out if teams would rather have the 1 or the 4/12. On the other hand, they also said the Cavs really want the 3/10 instead of the 1...so who the hell knows. Should be interesting though.

If we stay at #1 its Wiggins, but I think we are going to trade this pick and make a bunch of moves, I'm pretty giddy to see what happens tonight, especially after the disappointment of taking Bennett last year, it was one of those who the hell is this guy moments.

Wiggins has GOT to be the pick. He just fits the team so much better AND he has better upside.

Parker is an oversized SF, meaning he will get toasted guarding any SF in the league. Yes he can score... and he will need the ball in his hands... how many guys on this team need the ball in their hands? Do we need another one? Wiggins is the best fit, he won't need the ball in his hand and can play defense with a chance he can be a lockdown defender.

PLUS he can slide down to SG if need be if we get another SF in the near future.

But I also have this feeling... something big is going to happen tonight. A team will panic and up their offer for #1 and we will get something crazy to move down.

Agree with pretty much everything here, especially the part about Wiggins being the pick. In addition to the things you mention about Parker (all of which I agree with), I think Parker--like Irving--will be on the first plane out of Cleveland when the time arrives. Wiggins, maybe not--there's something about him that strikes me more as Kevin Durant than Kyrie Irving when it comes to destination cities and team loyalty.

And yes, the speculation is they want the 3 to take Mr. Footscrew.

I have no problem with doing that actually. You trade down and get some other assets so you can take a chance. Cuz really... even if Embiid doesn't scratch the surface of his potential due to injury, he will still be an above average to very good defender and rim protector. But... I really see him still becoming a very good player, it just might take 2-3 years to see it.

The way I see it, we were going to have the #9 pick... If you get out of this draft with Afflalo and #12 along with Embiid this is still a great draft for the Cavs. You build a team versus just a collection of players that you hope and pray can play together. That has been the problem with the Cavs under Grant. He just drafted players and didn't care if they fit together.

Parker doesn't fit this team... Wiggins does, but he is a risk too. Heck, the whole draft is a risk. Anyone can bust and anyone can become great.

Or he could be Sam Bowie and Wiggins and Parker could go on to be All Stars. I honestly don't follow the basketball draft that closely so I can't say much about taking the Footscrew at 3...other than whatever the Cavs to, it will likely end up being wrong.

Its funny... i dont follow basketball either College or Pros that much anymore... but I thought everyone was tanking for this draft because of Wiggins & Parker (both being the next Jordan/LeBron) based on hype.... now everyone is saying its a decent draft... where as the project was it was going to be the greatest since 84

From CBSSportsline: The Boston Globe reports that multiple teams are trying to buy copies of Joel Embiid's medical report.

Don't know that I've ever heard of that, but it means a hell of a lot of teams are likely interested in him...IF they don't think he's an erector set with too many screws.

Embiid being brokedick hurts the overall draft, because he was supposed to be part of the "Big 3" at the top of it. Ironically the picks at 7-12 might end up having more value...and generate better players...that the top 5 does.

I agree, whatever the Cavs do, it will be the wrong move.

Draft Embiid... he becomes Greg Oden, don't draft Embiid and after sitting out a year he becomes an all defensive team center and becomes the best center in the league.

Pick Parker? Wiggins becomes a stud and Parker eats himself to a tweener that can't defend and fights with Irving/Waiters and if we pick Wiggins he just becomes the most athletic stiff in the NBA and Parker becomes Paul Pierce.

And it now looks like that Orlando trade if off, Afflalo going to Denver?
