Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I could be wrong, but I don't think Memphis can pass the Clippers, because the Clippers being division winners can drop to no lower than the 4 seed. Memphis could tie the Nuggets, but I think the Nuggets have the tie breaker. Like I said, I could be wrong.

True, they can't pass for the fourth seed since the Clips are division winners, but, they can still get home court advantage in the series if they finsh ahead of them. I'm not sure how that rewards the division winner but if Memphis has the better record, they host the Clips in the first round. Makes no sense to me either, and it gioves the Grizz a big incentive to win the Jazz game.

The odds of both Phoenix and Cleveland not getting a top 3 pick are I think less than 33%, so the coin flip probably won't matter anyway.

Right, if you remember last year, the Cavs won the coin flip with the Hornets and got the extra ball and the third slot. Didn't matter because the Hornets won the lottery and got number one.

How does the NBA Draft Lottery work? (taken from insidehoops.cm)

Fourteen ping-pong balls numbered 1 through 14 will be placed in a drum. There are 1,001 possible combinations when four balls are drawn out of 14, without regard to their order of selection. Prior to the Lottery, 1,000 combinations will be assigned to the 14 participating Lottery teams by a computer.

Four balls will be drawn to the top to determine a four-digit combination. The team that has been assigned that combination will receive the number one pick. The four balls are placed back in the drum and the process is repeated to determine the number two and three picks. (Note: If the one unassigned combination is drawn, the balls are drawn to the top again.)

The order of selection for the teams that do not win one of the top three picks will be determined by inverse order of their regular season record.

I have seen Utah play a lot this year, and I was wondering how Al Jefferson would look in a Cavs uni? I would play him at 4, with Andy at 5. He is an unrestricted FA. Am I crazy?

you'd be better off playing him at the 5 with tristan at the 4 as jefferson certainly isn't fleet of foot enough to guard a lot of PF's, but he can handle most centers, and can hit a jumper, which would space the floor well.

if the cavs were interested in using their cap space and they drafted otto porter, then such a signing wouldn't be crazy at all, assuming he'd actually want to come to cleveland.
