Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

So the Lakers need to win out with the Jazz dropping one more game. I'm not feeling good about that.

Jazz don't have to lose anymore, they already have one more loss than LA.

Lakers are 41-37, Utah is 41-38.

Lakers go @ PORT, GS, SA, HOU.
Utah goes MIN, @ MIN, @ MEMP

Personally, I'll take the Lakers. 3 home games to end the year against teams that have already clinched and should be resting to some extent. If they can win on the road tonight, I'll be feeling pretty good for our chances (that is the Cavs chances of getting their pick).

D'oh. That's what I get for looking at the wrong column. Hopefully the Jazz can lose to the Grizz to make it easier for the Lakers. You would hope that the Lakers have enough talent that they can turn it on and win any game when it really counts. The Spurs might actually want to tank against the Lakers to get the second seed in the West. That 1-8 matchup would suck if the Lakers are able to turn it on in the playoffs.

This mock draft has the Cavaliers taking Otis Porter at #4, DeShaun Thomas at #30, and Adrian Payne and Lorenzo Brown in the second round. I do not even know if Payne is coming out. Anyhow FWIW

Not that I disagree with any of it, but I don't think that site shuffle's players around based on need yet. They basically just throw the current draft order on top of the player rankings. Of course there isn't much of a point of putting much detail into a mock draft until the lottery so they know what the final draft order will be.

I think most of us will be happy with Porter if the Cavs can get him since SF is our biggest hole. I don't really have a problem with Andy and Zeller splitting the C minutes next year and I'm even less worried if they can sign Oden as well. I like the thought of Andy and Zeller both averaging 20-25 minutes a game.

if Adrian Payne does come out and the Cavaliers select him, I think it would be a nice get but another year in college for him and the Cavaliers taking him next year would be even nicer. I know that that mock does not mean much before the lottery is even done. It seems like everyone is pretty big on Porter. I might take a look around and see who else might be a good fit at SF. Porter did not show up when Georgetown lost in the NCAA tournament.

I was mainly referring to Porter. I would be shocked if the Cavs end up with any 2nd round picks this year or any picks after 25 in the first round. Preferably with the Lakers making the playoffs and turning the 4 picks they have into 2 top 10 picks.

the kid from UNLV could whet my appetite for the Cavaliers I never knew much about him until I clicked his link on that draft board. Is a lot bigger than Porter and might be able to fill the same role.
