Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I was for holding onto Davis, but with the injury it isn't worth it. Hopefully they can find someone good that wants to play in Cleveland this summer since they are going to have a ton of cap space now. We should have the record to get a shot at the #1 pick again. It would also be nice if Gilbert's wallet is still open so that the Cavs can take on another draft pick for cash trade like they did for Davis last year. They have the Lebron money through tomorrow. I wonder if there is any chance they use it?

I doubt if they use the trade exception. We'd all like to use it to get more pics but it sounds unlikely.

Chris Paul going to the Clips is good for the Cavs, since they most likely won't be very good and the Cavs get their second rounder.

Gilberts wallet is always open...and once that casino goes in next door to the Q he will now have a vault instead...not that he isn't already rich as fuck to begin with...with money to spend and hope of a big name FA wanting to play with Irving, then i could see it happening

I always thought that Gilbert owning the casino in Cleveland was going to be good for the Cavs. If he is able to put asses in the seats at the Q it will only mean more money dropped in his Casino.

hell ya its good...only downside i could see is when i get wasted at a cavs game and then conveniently walk across the street to lose about 1000 dollars at the casino

He just bought the Ritz-Carlton downtown to add to his flowing revenue. If he can get players to want to play here, he'll certainly be willing to drop the cash.

wow...he needs to fix that place up...ive stayed in it once...the blackwell is 10 times nicer

thoughts after the game tonight

Irving will be our starting PG very very soon...kid takes it to the hole and gets to the FT line alot...was surprised by how much he was attacking the hoop...made some dumb mistakes which can be expected...if he stays healthy he will be a all star no doubt about it...loved what i saw from him...didnt start and led the team in scoring

Thompson had a terrible first half...had 4 fouls and no points...2nd half when he came off the bench he relaxed, had 2 blocks and had some great offensive rebounds followed by some nice putback dunks...he will be a defensive impact for this season and when he works on his offensive game he will be a complete player...not a true center but he will be our starting PF eventually...i dont see the comparisons right now to LeMarcus Aldridge besides they both came from Texas...Aldridge's outside game is far more superior at this point...i do see Tristan being a better defensive player tho...he will be a solid contributor this year

Samardo Samuels impressed me the most...i thought he had a great 2nd half of last season when he got PT...he was a beast inside tonight...be interesting to see what happens if we trade verajo because samardo is another guy i could see starting for us in the future at PF...he plays hard on both ends and is just a great rebounder...i really like his game and i am glad we took him on after summer league where he showed up DeMarcus Cousins

Eyenga has improved a little bit, mainly on D...he shows flashes of being that guard that we hoped would blossom into something great when we drafted hiim in the first round awhile back...just one game but he has alot of upside...just needs to put everything together

those were the guys on the bench...most of the starters i wont touch on to much because alot of them may not be around for long or have no impact on our future like anthony parker, jamison and sessions...sessions did look good...i really liked when we picked him up last year but his trade upside is too great to not get something in return for when u got your future PG sitting on the bench...alonzo gee...whatever...and verajo looked good...typical great D and flops...had some new moves on his inside game and his jump shot looks improved from about 25 ft out...this is his 8th season playing so its to the point where we either get rid of him now and get something good in return, or hold onto him and make him part of our future...i would rather trade him if the return value is good enough...but i do like verajo...he is our starting C no doubt about it

for the rest of the year i hope we show signs but i hope we do not win many games which we wont...hopefully chris grant does what he did last year and just try to acquire as many draft picks as possible...thats the key to rebuilding...next years draft should be loaded so im sure more teams will be more reluctant to get rid of 1st round picks as easily as they did last year...but we have some pieces and a shitload of future draft picks that we could exchange for more draft picks this year

bottom line i like this team...i will watch probably every game to see how irving and thompson do...irving, if healthy is no doubt the future of the team...thompson could develop into something awesome, so i am so far happy with how last years draft went

I thought Kyrie was pretty damn good...Especially when you remember he spent his summer at Duke taking classes & the Cavs told him to not pick up a basketball...Just rest , So I'm positive he's not close to being in game condition

Hopefully the Cavs can turn some of the older players and a guy like Andy into some decent picks for next years draft. I'd hate to see Andy go, but his value probably isn't going to go up and he's a better fit on a contender. Jamison should be easy to move and someone might want Parker at the deadline. If the Cavs are going to turn it around in the next year or two they need to hit the lottery again next year with a couple extra first rounders.

From watching last night, we have nothing resembling a good center, Andy is not a center. Thompson imho, could be better than Hickson, who I liked. Irving is too good to be true, so now I'm worried about injuries.

 Good luck with either of those two. Jamison's contract is ugly, and other NBA teams would rather have Candice over her brother.

jamison and parkers contracts are appealing to teams looking to take on salary and dump the following year...even with the new CBA im sure teams will still be actively doing this

jamisons contract

2011-12: $15,076,715.
2012-13: UFA

That's still a REALLY big chunk to take on. Not saying it won't happen, but man... 15 mil?!?!? That's Larry Hughes-esque. (not as bad as Hughes contract IIRC)
