Gus is a 4-3 guy and Ray is 3-4 ... yep seems about right time to switch and blow up the defense again...
Horton had enough time showing his talents the first time he coached defense in Cleveland. Get him the hell out of town. The guy is bad! I did not watch yesterday's game bbut I have watched quite a few games this season and with our DB's and the way they play I would at least try and blitz periodically. I mean if you are going to go down at least go down with your guns blazing
I am also not that sure about Jackson but I guess he did prove a little bit when he was in Oakland but RH has not proved anything anywhere..
I do not have a dog in this discussion but they play each of those defenses about 50% of the time during the game so it really will not make any difference who coaches the defense because the players are used to both systems or at least they should be. Maybe that is the problem.
it goes to my point i've made earlier in this thread... they start down 1 path ... lets say 3-4 then fire the coach 2 years in .. then he brings in a 4-3 guy .... gets fired ... who brings in 3-4 who gets fired and brings in a 4-3.... no system stays in place long enough to get the guys needed to make it successful before blowing it up and hiring a HC who probably tells them he's going to change the defense.
I do not know maybe you misunderstood what I was trying to say.. I read that they play the 3-4 about 50% during a game and 4-3 about 50% during a game so I really do not think that it matters, except maybe for one position,, which personnel, or who coaches that personnel, you have on the team..
