Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

I saw a couple of Fresno State games this year, and honestly I thought Carr looked really good. Seemed to have decent mobility, a good arm, and made some really nice throws. I don't think he's an option at #4 at all, but at #26 I think they could do worse. I think he gets kind of a bad rap because his brother got crushed behind a porous Houston OL for 5 years and never panned out.

Mike Pettine: QB class is so deep that Browns might draft two

Will the Browns draft a quarterback with the fourth overall pick in this year’s NFL draft? Or will they pick a quarterback later in the draft?

According to Browns coach Mike Pettine, the answer to both of those questions could be, “Yes.”

Pettine said at the league meeting that it’s possible the Browns will draft two quarterbacks.

“This is a deep quarterback class, and that is why. It’s deep and it’s varied,” Pettine said.

If the Browns take a quarterback at No. 4, it would be Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater, Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel or Central Florida’s Blake Bortles. The Browns also own the Colts’ first-round pick, No. 26 overall, which could be used to take a quarterback like Fresno State’s Derek Carr or Eastern Illinois’s Jimmy Garoppolo. In later rounds they could go after Alabama’s AJ McCarron, LSU’s Zach Mettenberger, Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas or Pittsburgh’s Tom Savage.

I would take a gamble on Taj Boyd in the fourth or fifth round.

I don't think that means what they think it does.

if the contract rumors are true, it's unlikely. rumors are $10-$11 million a year with $30 million guaranteed. absolutely insane money.

If that is the deal I think I let him walk then draft the best OL in the draft at #4 to play RT. Move Grecco to C and Schwartz to RG. No center is worth 11 mil a year for that long. At least Robinson or Matthews could take over for Thomas when he retires. I'd still like to hear what Chris Faulk looks like in spring workouts. If his knee is close to 100% he could be a good option at LG.
