Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Jacksonville honestly did us a favor. Now we get him cheaper for 2 years for sure, and if he opts in then we get him even cheaper in year 3 on... Only thing that kinda sucks for us is the 26 guaranteed if he opts out after year 2.... that would sting but with the salary cap going up again next year even really doesn't hurt us all that much really.

Definitely would imagine we match it.

Sweet. I'm excited to have Mack half ass the next two years.

Then he better not plan on opting out in two years because he won't get nearly as much money on the open market if he doesn't play as well as he is capable.

However, I would not be surprised to see the injury bug just somehow magically hit him. You watch, this durable guy who hasn't missed a snap will all of a sudden have lingering injury issues... that he exaggerates. Let's hope not.

Lets hope Joe Thomas doesn't let that happen. If Mack wants a big contract out of town he will need to play well the next 2 years.

Had to figure they knew what they were going to do one way or the other since all the terms got leaked. The good news is they won't be paying QB money to a QB for a while, so they have the space to pay Mack, Gordon, and Haden what they need.

I was just assuming.. you don't consume a top 2 round pick to fill a glaring hole when you can just use money to keep it filled with top tier talent

Even in free agency, you rarely get a shot (at even stupid contract levels) to get a guy in the top 3 ranking for his position.. you only get a shot at someone who is unconscionably thinking he's top 3.. or was. 5 years ago

It's not ideal money for a center but when you have the cap space it's better to use then to have it sit there doing nothing. We weren't going to use that cap space this year and highly unlikely we would have next year. Get two good years and then figure out. I've built dynasties on Madden 25 so I feel fully qualified to speak on this.

One thing's for certain, you'll always be the cleveland browns. Now get to drafting Johnny Foosball and lets fire this comedy extravaganza up.
The big thing on the radio this week was Chuck Booms saying the Browns are guaranteed to take Manziel because the NFL booked the Monday night preseason game with Washington and they wouldn't have done that without that assurance
