Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Its doubtful Manziel isn't starting with the Browns at some point of his rookie contract, Hoyer is almost 30 already, cant run since his injury and will always have below average arm strength. He's nice at what he's done, but at some point you do have to improve the position and with all the rolling out and moving Hoyer has done this year that makes Manziel a good fit for the system.

Hoyer decision making > Money Badger decision making. Arm strength and mobility be damned.

you can base that on a grand total of zero nfl games played for Manziel? Wonder what tomorrows Lottery ticket numbers will be. what was Hoyers decision making as rookie? had to pretty brilliant since he was not only undrafted, from 2009-2012 he threw just 2 TDs to 3 INTs and posted a QBR under 50 in 3 out of 4 years. I mean if we are comparing not playing a single game played to 6 years of development, might as well compare Manziels rookie year to Hoyers first 4 right?

Conversely you're comparing Manziel being a better scheme fit because of .... pre-season? Or is it because Manziel has better physical gifts? Which really account for very little for an QB's success. Yet he'll somehow eventually be an "upgrade" at the position.

I like when a QB can play within himself and the offense, I don't anticipate that at all from Manziel regardless of what year he may be in when he finally does start.

ah so your just sucking off hoyer instead of looking at things realistically, got it.
what else are you supposed to compare them off of? how do you think QBs get drafted into the NFL? based on how teams think they fit in their system, theres a reason guys like Hoyer aren't drafted very often.

what is the reality to you?

That Hoyer is still a almost 30 year old QB finally getting it, but he's also in a FA year where players in all sports usually have good years out of nowhere, like Hoyer, while the team just traded up in the first round for a QB that does alot of things well for what they are using in their system for a QB. Hoyers job to lose this year, no guarentee further down the line.

What does Manziel do well for Shanny's system? What other young QB's has Shanny's system shown off? RG3, rookie who got injured and has never been the same. Anyone else?

The reality of the situation is that the browns will ride the Boyer train as far as it goes, and if they have to they will either franchise him or transition tag him. If the browns want hoyer back next year, he will be. End of story.

how about the reasons already stated, he's got the mobility that they have been trying to use with Hoyer to roll him out and bootleg quite a bit. they also tried to run the QB/RB Read option in pre-season when Manziel was in. how many young QBs has Shanny had him his system, RG3, anyone else? Strawmans. i find it funny you ignore how well Kirk Cousins has played in his NFL career until last week, you know the guy who has learned from KS more then any other OC in the NFL?

heres a list of his QBs since becoming a QB coach/OC

Matt Schuab, Sage Rosenfels, Shane Boyd, Rex Grossman, Dan Orlovsky, John Beck, Donovan McNabb, Rex Grossman, Kirk Cousins and RG3. Wheres all those young QBs he supposedly had to show off? i only see 2 QBs under 25 on that list, and both played well under him.

Google. and sure it is, and he very well could be signing his next contract to be a backup here, so whats you're point.

Then use Google to show me. I'm not doing your work for you. And the point is that your argument makes zero sense and hoyer will be a brown next year if the organization wants him, and there is nothing manziel can do to change that.

I dont have to do any work, im looking at the page with my own eyes. if you want to see it then you can google it. if you choose to or not doesn't make it less of a proven fact. its ok you're just delusional i understand. how doesn't it make sense? this should be good.

Then copy and paste the link to back your claim. Not hard.

And your tangent about manziels skill set as it relates to the browns system and his draft position is of zero consequence to hoyers future with Cleveland next year. End of story.
