Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

1/4th of the season through and Pettine looks like the best HC since the return. Makes second half adjustments we haven't seen since Butchy.
if Hoyer keeps playing like this, you have to wonder how many years go by before Manziel starts for the Browns.

You can look at the Browns with the same point but 2 different ways. We play to our opponents level every week, which is good and bad I guess. Today we played down to the crappy Titans level, and apparently decided we wanted to lay down for a full half and try in half 2.

It's strange because in a way this team makes me mad with how we play down, make a lot of errors on special teams, and are 2-4, but at the same time they show flashes of being a team that actually would have a shot at the playoffs.

Hoyer is no Peyton Manning, but he is getting the job done. His only official INT honestly was a pretty good INT as far as they go. This is the best scenario possible for CLE. Whether you never want to see JF touch the field or not, the fact that he is getting a lot of time to sit back and learn for a year, is super valuable. Far too often have we had to toss in a rookie QB to the wolves.

Also keep in mind, we are still w/o one of the best WR's in the NFL. 6 more games to go and he is back.

If this team can learn to make in half adjustments in half #1, do a better job in the secondary, and learn to play to a certain level almost every game instead of the level of the competition, they can be an 8-8 or 9-7 team this season.

I think almost everyone can agree that this isn't the old typical Browns since 99, we have a long way to go, but this year they are showing significant improvements and so far Pettine and company have them going the right direction.

Just waiting for the Manziel to Dallas trade. Any moment now...

No doubt. The minute Jerry is willing to give me next years first and a conditional 2nd-4th in 2016 (depending on starts next year) for Manziel I would jump on it. Honestly if they could go back and draft Kelvin Benjamin with the pick from the Colts and Mettenberger with the pick that they used to trade up I would be pretty happy right now.

Its doubtful Manziel isn't starting with the Browns at some point of his rookie contract, Hoyer is almost 30 already, cant run since his injury and will always have below average arm strength. He's nice at what he's done, but at some point you do have to improve the position and with all the rolling out and moving Hoyer has done this year that makes Manziel a good fit for the system.
