Interesting...

the twitters are saying that the CEO they hired from Pepsi was messing with employee status of full time and part time to try and skirt taxes and some obamacare medicare payments, which is why haslam returned to CEO after a few weeks.

Plus, Pilot just released a statement that the IRS is involved and the FBI was executing a search warrant. So, it seems to be a plausible scenario. Now, we'll see who knew, what was covered up and who starts falling on swords.

May be they should put Haslam in charge of managing the salary cap and that there would be no need for Banner:paranoid:

I'd love for the Browns to trade down, but who would want to trade up in this draft? The only plausible scenario I see is a team wanting to trade up to get a LT...If we do trade down, I really like Desmond Trufant...The Washington CB...alot in the mid first round...

I was on record wanting Warmack but the way the NFL works OG isn't a premier position where high first round picks are spent...I wish we could get back in the 2nd round but I don't really see it happening..

I guess we will know in a little over a week...
I guess it all depends on if Milliner is still on the board or not. If he is, I would have a hard time trading down from #6 but I guess it all depends upon what the offer would be. If someone like Miami wants to give me their second round pick and possibly another pick later in the draft, I might bite and take Xavier Rhodes to either play CB or FS. He is a pretty physical player and I would have no problem selecting him.

Also, as you probably know, there has been a lot of speculation about either Rubin or Sheard being traded and I really would not have a problem with either one of them being traded depending upon what we would get. Rubin is way overpaid and it is not that difficult to find a one run stuffing NT either in the draft or possibly wait until next year and sign a nice free-agent or draft someone then. I do not know about Sheard. He is not overpaid like Rubin but the big question mark with him is if he can make the switch to OLB successfully. I guess I would trade either of these guys for a second round selection in this years draft.

Surprised no one has posted this… Not really. I remember him when he was with Cincinnati and he never really impressed me back then. I do not know maybe he has improved but I guess he came cheaper than re-signing Phil and that is important to this FO.
BEREA, Ohio – Two weeks after signing a young place-kicker with no NFL experience, the Browns have added a well-traveled veteran in hopes of finding Phil Dawson's replacement.

Shayne Graham, a 35-year-old familiar with the challenges of kicking in the blustery environs of Cleveland and Pittsburgh, agreed to a one-year deal worth $940,000. The deal is the 2013 minimum for a player with his experience.

Saw that last night...Like the move, at least its not Billy Cundiff...After watching Joekel on Grudens QB camp, I'm convinced he goes #1...Reminds me of Joe Thomas alot...I think Dion Jordan goes #2 to the Jags...After that, its a crapshoot and it will dictate what Cleveland does...I'm telling ya, I like a trade down and I like Desmond Trufant..But like LitlBuck said, Milliner would be hard to pass up if on the board...Also, I'd love to trade Rubin but Sheard I'd keep unless we get a great value for him..I think his pass rush potential is great in a 4-3, but him as a 3-4 OLB idk....

Bewildered

Signing a kicker for a mill.. that is not as good as what we had for $2M

Owner that we were so happy about.. is now in the midst of an FBI raid who has a bullseye on his butt for multiple accounts

WTF .. now Tibor is really laughing

So am I...but I've been laughing pretty steadily for the past seven years, so it's hard to stop.

I don't think that's a fair comparison - I don't think $2 million or any higher amount was going to bring Dawson back this season.

If this franchise were worth a damn we could look at this signing an know that it doesn't mean a thing - that they would spend a low pick on a kicker or sign a UDFA and have an open competition in camp. There are decent young kickers coming into the league every year, so for most franchises it wouldn't be hard to make sure the Graham isn't actually collecting checks come August. Unfortunately this is the Browns and we all know better than that.

I was PO'd because I didn't see the Browns even try.. and I'm a loyalty junkie

I'm pretty sure they tried to work something out a year ago and were told no... which is why he was franchise tagged.

In a perfect world I would have loved for the Browns to have approached him again. After feeding him shit sandwiches for fourteen years though I think it would have been mean and kind of insulting to ask him again if he wanted more. In other words, I'm not pissed off that they didn't approach him. I'm pissed off that the Browns haven't yet created conditions where Dawson might have even had a reason to think about his answer.
