I hear you, but this is my problem. After they left, I tried to root for other teams... it didn't work for me. Even an Eddie George led Titans team couldn't make me give half a [Mark May], so, I can say I'm done, but, then I'm done with the NFL, and then what the [censored] am I gonna do Sundays in the fall?

Jesus invented internet porn for a reason. . . . .

I can't minimize the stupidity of picking a QB, more specifically ANY QB in this draft in the 1st round. Its a)unnecessary b) not an intelligent move considering area's of critical need and c) bad business.

You don't take a mediocre QB in a piss-poor draft and try to convince yourself he can be the franchise.

Geno has weakness' that have been comparable to Weedens without the added benefit of the fact that, Brandon does have a pretty damn strong arm.

He's slow off his first read, goes to his checkdown - isn't available and then has trouble resetting and going through progressions. Basically Brady Quinn all over again.

If they take Dion Jordan. I'll be fucking pissed. If they trade down and take Xavier Rhodes, I'll be pretty upset. (At least we'd have a free safety) If Milliner is available and they trade down, I'll be pissed. If not, they trade down, take Warmack, Vacarro or Trufant and get a high 2nd rounder... I'll be upset we didn't get our man, but I'll be willing to go along with it.

I don't want him (Smtih) either, don't get me wrong, you need not explain his many shortcomings, and, generally I'm right with you here, but, psychologically you must be prepared for that which seems unthinkable. Its the Browns.

(Actually, if they do the trade down and still get Warmack or Trufant, and get a 2nd rounder I'll be fine)

And I don't think there's much of a chance they take Smith at 6. But, what if they take Milliner at 6 and then do somethign colassolly stupid to get say, EJ Manuel? So, I need to be ready for stupid.

Agreed...the Browns are rivaled only by the Raiders and the Jaguars for their predictably unpredictable stupidity on draft day. Not coincidentally, those are the franchises that have been and still are more or less royally fucked. I suppose a new regime could offer some optimism, but then again, we've seen this rerun before with Lombardi, so...probably not.

So based on previous track record, I am guessing Geno at 6, trade next year's first rounder for a second rounder and a third this year, and then pick a position of absolute non-need, like a center, or a project WR in the second, followed by a kicker in the third. That about cover it?

Went thru exact same experience... and found out my life got simpler.. cuz I never had to figure out how I was gonna arrange my Sunday around the Browns game... now, by end of September, my season is already over.. we're already 4 games out... and my Sundays are wide open again

Buds ask "how about team so-and-so".. and I don't have a clue... cuz I barely know NFL exists
PS and I hate being this way... cuz I really really want to experience Minnie & Hanford at the corners again

so you can admit IF and WHEN the browns do become a good team that you will jump right back on the bandwagon correct? just checking

For the most part I'm fine with a trade down to get a starter other than QB. I would be very happy with Warmack at 11 or 12 even if Milliner was on the board at 6 as long as the return on the trade was ok and they get a CB and/or safety in the 2nd or 3rd.

I'm just saying I will give up on the NFL and just be a Super Bowl watcher if the Browns take a QB in the first round. I don't think it is that important for me as long as I have the Buckeyes.

If Milliner is there and 6 and we get him (fingers crossed) I don't see them mortgaging the farm for Manuel. So that particular scenario troubles me very little.

IF Milliner isn't announced by #5, I think I'd be comfortable and take a deep sigh of relief.

What would I do if they draft Geno Smith? Laugh. Same thing I always do...LAUGH. This is the worst run franchise in pro sports. I expect nothing more than an endless string of 5-11 seasons into perpetuity. As I was watching Smith flail around in the snow in wvu's bowl game, quiet resignation set in...this is the clowns future QB. So let it be written. So let it be done.

See, its logic that gets you in trouble. The troubling thing is the unknown.

so you are saying you like Trufant or Vacarro over Xavier Rhodes:shake: would you mind explaining your rationale behind that. I think that Rhodes is probably better than either one of those guys and I am pretty sure that mock drafts have him ranked higher than either of the two that you mention.
