I really hope all the Geno Smith talk is the Browns trying to game other teams. If they do draft Smith anywhere in the first round I'm going to have a lot more free time on Sundays.

NJ-Buckeye;2327578; said:Thin at LB - only if you mean quality.. cuz quantity-wise we still have 9 and I would be surprised if we don't add 1 or 2 in this draft
RB - why did we re-sign Ogbo? despite his size, for some reason I think of him as a similar back to Lewis.. altho I admit the 5'7 (who probably is 5'5") can hide behind behemoth linemen... I kinda like having Hardesty & Ogbo in reserve... and I think of Ogbo as a 'scatback'
Ask me how thrilled I'd be to pick up Boren and let Owen go.. but then I'd also take Stoney too.. homer yes, but I think those two can help us in areas of need.. and are better than what we have.. Stoney as a backup
I would like to have 27 WRs on the roster.. with the hope of finding TWO worth a crap.. behind my keeper, Gordon... IF we're ever going to step up to playoff contender, not sure we can do it with Little and his inconsistency... can't recall a 'dropper' fixing himself (interject Braylon in here as proof)
Buckeneye;2327589; said:Yes, thin in terms of quality. Marecic is gone. I can't in any way envision him being a part of this team next year. I'd also be happy to bring Stoney in. I'm hoping they do. I don't see him as a backup though. Sure he isn't the best inline blocker, but he is a hell of a receiving threat and his combine performance only re-affirmed what many of us knew - he's a great athlete at the position.
I'm not saying Little "fixed" the drops in the 2nd half of the season, but they went the way of the do-do pretty damn quick. In fact he made a few highlight worthy grabs along that timeframe as well.

The new Browns coaching staff has been "very impressed" by Greg Little's improvement on tape as the 2012 season progressed. He reportedly "seems to be a significant part" of the new regime's plan. Little had six drops and only 11 receptions in the first five games, before catching 42 balls with just three drops over the final 11. We've yet to see many glimpses of Little's supposedly explosive run-after-catch ability, but he's definitely getting better and will be just 24 in May. He's on the back-end WR3 radar for 2013.

Marecic is gone and it's seemed pretty clear from the Browns camp talk that Obby will be at FB; staff has loved his pass protection as well.
Buckeneye;2327596; said:I remember one of those 3 last drops being just off the tips of his fingers. Would have been hard for any WR to get ahold of. If he was tagged with a drop for it, that's quite sad. Either way, the improvement he made in a short amount of time was lightyears better then what Braylon did over the course of his entire career.
Buckeneye;2327598; said:Absolutely. If there can be some consistency on offense this year and good health, big things could be in store. I'm not saying SuperBowl, but with the stagnation of the Bungles, the Ratbirds losing damn near everyone valuable on defense and Flacco's best offensive weapon.... Toss in the severe decline of the Steelers (pretty sure they just lost Sanders to the Pats too).
This year 8-8 could be a wildcard spot. Hell, 10 wins might even be a real possibility.
http://www.cleveland.com/browns/The Browns today were awarded linebacker Ryan Rau off waivers from Philadelphia, the club announced.
Originally signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Rau appeared in four regular season contests last year and totaled three special teams tackles. He spent the first 13 weeks of the season on Philadelphia’s practice squad.
A four-year letterman at Portland State (2008-11), Rau registered 287
career tackles and led the team in that category each of his final three seasons. He also added eight career sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Born July 30, 1990, the 6-1, 230-pound Rau is a native of Folsom, California, where he attended Folsom High School.
