Disagree on Phili's options - OT has to be at the very top considering they have virtually nothing even on the roster at this point and haven't attempted to sign a tackle. With Fisher, Joeckel, and Johnson I can't see them continuing to ignore it unless they want Vick to become a human pinanta, although I guess he already was last year....

I repeat....Phili is not going defensive with their first rounder

jason peters is their left tackle. they paid a pretty penny for him and he tore his achillies last year. he's their starting LT. they are either going geno smith or dion jordan IMO.

I strongly believe Philly is going Geno Smith....Best case scenario he is sitting there at #6 and we blow enough smoke to warrant a trade rivaling the Ditka-Ricky Williams deal...Just kidding, but I play up our interest in Smith to the fullest to solicit a trade... After all, its happened to us several times (Trade up for KW2 and Richardson being prime examples)

except tampa was going to trade up for richardson. but the kw2 fiasco was as terrible as it gets.

Jason Peters tore his ACL before the season, and then a few days later he tore it again.......count me as one not expecting him to return to be much of a factor.

I can see the Geno Smith pick if they can get a trade partner for Foles which probably wouldn't be terribly difficult.

Anybody that trades up in this draft is retarded. There is nobody worth trading up for this year.

With that statement, you've just ensured that the clowns will trade up... In fact given this is the browns they will do something stupid in the draft.. Let's just call a spade a spade

Grimes depending on cost. Nnamdi would have to play FS or nickel at best and probably not worth the $$. Cason I just flat out don't like his game. Aqib would probably also cost a pretty penny and there's always the off-field issues he has the ability to find himself in. Rhodes could come in and play FS for a year or so until we either draft one or Kent Richardson grows into the role.
I think you better get someone in free agency and it seems like you don't like anyone. I know that drafting Milliner would certainly help but he has not the answer to our complete defensive backfield and what would happen if he was not available when it came to the #6 pick. We would be looking at Buster or Patterson again playing opposite Haden. I don't know who would play FS. You have to like someone but you don't like anyone that is available. Maybe you are Joe Banner:) I hope you are not Lombardi.

I"m all for players - but not overpaying them. Nnamdi would be one of them. Patterson wouldn't be too bad as a fringe #2CB if the Browns could mount a decent pass rush. That said - if we must pull teeth I'd take Grimes and still draft Milliner.

Haden,Grimes, Milliner, Ward and (Richardson @FS) would be a pretty solid foundation for a nickel package.

The Browns need to sign at least one DB. Preferably a CB and maybe a CB that is capable of starting at CB or FS. Hopefully Milliner is there at 6 and we have a great set of young CB's.

If the Browns don't sign any DB's and Milliner gets drafted before 6 I see them needing to use the 3-5 round picks on DB's to hope they find one that can play. I would be shocked if they don't sign at least one starting DB in the next week.

You better just hope that he is available at #6 because our front seven cannot do everything:) you should not put all of your eggs in one basket and that is what you are doing hoping that he is going to be there because if he is not we will be in a world of hurt.

That is what I am trying to say but nobody is hearing me.

I'm not sure how much more crystal clear I can be here. I wouldn't mind signing Nnamdi - if the price is respectable. Grimes, same story. Cason? Maybe. He would have to come pretty damn cheap. My main concern is pass defense. If Milliner isn't available, turn to Jarvis Jones. A rush would really help the secondary as well and the damn Giants won two superbowl with middle of the road secondaries. (not saying I want to take that approach)

edit: Fuck it. Throw money at Grimes. There, that better?
