Other little tidbits from this article Banner says that he will take all the responsibility for the key decisions that are made. He also said that Lombardi is currently focused on building the roster. Chud and Banner will address the media and not Lombardi.

I really don't understand why they would hire a guy for a general manager who is a "lightning rod" in the opinion of the president of the team. Nevermind, I think I know the answer.

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Joe Banner admitted today that he doesn't want Browns General Manager Mike Lombardi in the media spotlight yet because he's "a little bit of a lightning rod." Instead CEO Banner will address personnel matters for the time being.

Banner's hiring of Lombardi as his top personnel man touched off a firestorm of criticism from fans and some media members disenchanted with Lombardi's first go 'round here with Bill Belichick from 1990-95.

Lombardi, an outspoken analyst on NFL Network the past five years, hasn't addressed the media since being promoted on March 5. He didn't appear at press conferences for free agent acquisitions Paul Kruger and Desmond Bryant. Instead, the two were flanked by Banner and coach Rob Chudzinski.

At least Desmond Bryant as an attitude about him. However, when trying to open the door of the wrong house he was held back by a guy who only weighs 170 lbs. I sure hope he gets over his problems whatever it may be or this could be wasted money.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A week after being awarded a $34 million contract, new Browns defensive lineman Desmond Bryant is being sued for trying to barge into a North Miami house a month ago, according to a report.

Mothefucker just signed a $34 Million dollar contract. Spend the 15k, drop a few extra benjamins on them to make it move quick and smooth, don't act like an ass next time and move on.

His comments come across like a remotely mature person, hopefully he realizes what they are asking is a pittance to what he earns.

Hell, his attorney's fee's would be more then 15K. Just plead no contest, give a statement of regret or offer to settle out of court perhaps.

Most athletes are spoiled assholes.

If there aren't hundreds of giant cardboard cutouts of this:

Dawson to the Niners'...

At least I get to root for him on my 2nd team.
As soon as they let Akers go, I figured they would go after Dawson. Banner said in his press conference that he would explain Dawson's departure after Phil signed.

Re: another ex-Brown Cribbs might not be going to Arizona after all. Seems to have some loose stuff in his knee.

Question from a 49er fan to the Browns fans on here: if Dawson jogged on the field to attempt a 46 yarder to win the game did you have confidence he would make it?
Dawson kicked field goals in Browns Stadium which is probably one of the more difficult stadiums to kick in and he did not miss very many. In the past two years, he has probably kicked more 50+ yard field goals than any other kicker in the NFL. Would I be confident in him kicking a 46 yard field goal... hell yes.

I think your team is now complete.

I'd be much more worried about the long-snapper and holder than I would be Dawson in that situation....
