Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

I've only seen one Georgia game this season, so I understand that my opinion means nothing. I really like Jones as a pass rusher, but he seems to be a real liability against the run. He couldn't get off blocks, and Alabama really went after him. I'll trust the scouts/coaches if he's around and we end up taking him, but I'm more than happy with winning enough that we get "stuck" with Te'o.

I noticed the very same thing Saturday. Jones just doesn't seem big enough to be a run stopper. He might be quick off the ball but I don't think he is big enough to handle the big NFL linemen of the NFL. I think there are guys out there that I might like better than Jones.

Jones also had a traumatic neck injury as a freshman, I would almost consider him a long term health risk.

From what I've heard Jones wouldn't be a DE in a 4-3 defense. He would be an OLB that bumps down to DE on passing downs so he wouldn't be getting mauled by OL on running plays.

To me it sounds like he has a better build to be a 3-4 OLB so I wouldn't be too sad if they missed out on him and had to go after a stud LB, DE, or CB.

this combined with a congenital spinal defect, i think narrowing of the cord or the bones that protect it make me want to stay away... he might be great but for a short amount of time.

So if it isn't obvious. I have today off. No appointments scheduled. Its awesome. Gym early. Great lunch. Getting paperwork done. Looking at DE's.

I submit to you "keke" Mingo. Elite first step. Plays well in space. Varies his moves decently enough. Needs to be taught how to use his hands better at the next level. But uhh... Yeah. I like what I see.

his total lack of production this year, especially with a high 1st round pick opposite him at DE and 2 stout DT's is quite troubling. if cleveland's going to take a guy that isn't an every down DE, they better get someone that at least is productive.

Well aware of the production issues. My going, especially considering his size would that OLB/DE position that's becoming the popular trend.

I would have said Montgomery but he scares me. Reminds me alot of Big Vern. Bull rush, bull rush, bull rush - doesn't use his hands that well.
Not saying that can't be coached. Taking a DE this high is always a concern.

Haven't watched a whole hell of a lot on Werner. Probably do that after I make some phone calls.
