Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

Little seems like a new guy over the past several weeks. If he can keep this up I don't think the Browns are going to need to worry about WR in the draft this year. I think both Little and Gordon are big enough and athletic enough to be a good pair of starting WR's in the NFL as long as they can continue to develop from where they are right now. I would expect a similar improvement in Gordon from this year to next year to what we've seen from Little over the past year. Gordon is already way ahead of where Little was his rookie year. Gordon's biggest test will be to keep his nose clean during the off season.

I'm not sure who this new Greg Little is - but damn, he is
Playing tens times better. Focusing on the catch, then making
Moves in space. Not vice versa.

And hopefully some of us can warm up to the thought of
Te'o, Werner or Montgomery.

Yes, I am aware of that...but the jury is still out on whether this "new" Greg Little is real or a mirage. I don't think there's much doubt about Gordon's talent right now.

I think most Browns fans are open to playmakers on D as long at they can rush the passer or defend the pass. IIRC they said that only one pass was thrown at Haden yesterday and he almost picked it. I can only imagine what the defense would be like if you put someone on the other side that was almost as good. I think CB is a bigger need, but a rush OLB might be an easier get. Throw in a new guard or two, a FS, and Boren to play FB and they'd be cooking.

For the first time, maybe ever, I'm content with the skill positions on offense.

Imagine had we not beaten New Orleans in 2010.

Patrick Peterson lining up across from Haden.
Best secondary in the NFL. Alas, that dream did not happen.

Greco has been decent at G. Lavaou, I still feel he needs to go.

Either we need talent at gaurd or a change in mentality/coaching.
The run blocking intensity on this line is a fucking joke.

It always seems like they win 1 or 2 games that screws them out of the draft pick that they really need so we can kiss Jarvis Jones goodbye.

Good thing they should only win one more game max unless something happens to RG3 in the next 2 weeks. IMO the only way Shurmur could lock up the job would be to go 3-4 over the rest of the season and I really don't want him to lock up the job.

i don't think 6-10 is going to be good enough. but they are 4-3 in their last 7. if they would finish 7-9 that would be a 7-4 spurt to end the year, and the argument could be made that after haden and taylor returned, this team got drastically better on defense, and it was the defense that cost them 2 games of the first 6.

as for the draft, it seems pretty clear that cleveland needs a RDE that can provide some sort of pass rush, a FS, a #2 CB, and possibly a WLB. They could also use a guard on offense. while this looks like a laundry list, this is at least different than most cleveland offseasons which are like playing whack a mole with team needs.

Said that last night after the game. No way we get near Jones now.
I love big Phil. His injury aside he has pro-bowl potential.
But having Peterson on this defense would be insane.
