Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

I'm sorry, I know I took heat from the Griffin-at-all-costs crowd before, but if this report is accurate, 3 #1s and a #2 is exactly the kind of deal that can wreck both RGIII and a franchise. I am really glad the Browns thought that pricve was way too high.
I said somewhere in this thread all the bickering over RG3 was probably pointless because Dan Snyder will eventually go full retard. Didn't think it would be this early, though. :slappy:

At least we can stop talking about the Browns trading up and focus on the moves that will best help. IMO the Redskins trading up was the second best thing that could have happened behind RG3 being there at the 4th pick and the Redskins giving the Browns a couple first round picks to move up.

So who would help the most Claiborne, Richardson, or Blackmon?

If they stay at 4, I think Claiborne is the pick there. Pairing him with Haden is pretty appealing. I'm not sold on Blackmon at 4, and I think Richardson would be available later on. Personally, I would be thrilled to move down a few spots and get Richardson in the 10-12 range, grab a WR or OT at 22, and grab a few more picks in the process. Wondering how serious they get about Flynn now, too. Just stay the fuck away from Tannehill, please. :smash:

At this point I want Blackmon. The Browns need credible targets in the passing game no matter who the QB ends up being next season.

I don't necessarily feel anymore that Blackmon is the BPA in that spot or that he's worth that high of a pick, but since I know the Browns don't have the guts to go out and get a difference maker in free agency, they have to try to get one on the draft and that will be their best shot at it.

If the Browns were not a spineless organization I'd want Claiborne instead.

I guess I don't understand why St. Louis turned down the Cleveland offer if it indeed was 3 first-round selections desk I see when 2 of them are this year. I would think that would out weigh the second round pick that the Redskins have added. All of the first-round selections are spread over 3 years. However, I am pleased that the Browns did not try to outbid the Redskins. In my mind, that would have sent this franchise back even further.

If we cannot trade down from the fourth pick, I guess I would take Claiborne. It is more of a value pick for that slot. If they can trade down, I really like Richardson but since their cap money has dwindled a little bit they might have to take Blackmon with the fourth pick. There is certainly a lot of chatter about Tannehill and I really don't like.

I wouldn't break the bank for Flynn. Use this draft to make the team better and if Colt doesn't get the job done trade up next year to get one of the top QB's. If Manning goes to Miami and the market for Flynn isn't very strong I would look to sign him. If they don't spend money on a Flynn I would love to see them sign Mario Williams.

Agree, but as I stated above when they signed Jackson that sort of cut into their cap money and Williams would be way too expensive as might Flynn. The Browns still have a couple of their own free agents that they need to sign. If they are really looking to sign a veteran WR free-agent, they really don't have a ton of money.

I'd like Blackmon, but if they can't trade down slightly, especially since St. Louis is almost definitely taking him at 6 now, I'd say that Claiborne is almost certainly the pick at this point.

Well, maybe the Rams want in on the 4.

I'll take their 2nd.

That would be a call I would make

You have to think the Rams are now thinking to get as many weapons for Bradford as possible, now.

Shit, Fisher might want to make sure he gets Claiborne there (I have no idea what the Rams D looks like, but, think of who their coach is now) They have the assets to get someone they think will be an impact player.

True, and then let the Rams get Claiborne, so the Browns can get Blackmon or even Richardson, just to drive tsteele insane....

If they keep trading down Richardson looks more appealing if you ask me.
