Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

I like RG3... but I'm glad we didn't do this... uhm... wonder if we can taunt the Rams into using the 6th & one of the 2nd rounders to move up from 6 to 4 to ensure they get whoever they love.... that would give us 4 picks within the first 40... i'd take that... I like Claiborne just really not sure about him at #4 but whatever.

as much as i have been on RGIII's nuts i have to say that wow, the redskins just went all in and this is what i thought

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4NeZAaRIfFo

...and its not like hes playing in an easy conference...i always said that i would be content giving up the first 2 picks, a 2nd and a future 3rd and thats it...otherwise its way too much of a risk...i always said this is clevelands luck that we have a RGIII there and the one team we have to compete with is the craziest SOB owner of all time...so of course we will lose on that...and i love the reports that we tried to make a deal but by that time it was too late...of course...i would love to hear what that deal was...has to make colt mccoy feel great regardless...so now i have to say i agree with everyone here that for the value of the #4 pick we take claibourne...its a no brainer...hecker loves CB's and if we love him then thats who we will get...but i think we could also now trade down if for some reason a team wants to trade up to take blackmon or whoever else...we could still possibly get a richardson at #7 or #8...still possible...other then RGIII, most of these situations will become alot clearer with the prodays and everything else...now i have to say, i want the browns to go hard after flynn...we have the cap space, no excuses, get it done....you then get the best player available at #4...offense of defense...your #22 pick you take a WR....i want them to trade up if possible also to get 2 picks in the second round...we have 2 4th rounders, see if someone wants that...long ways away still but things got a lot more interesting

and this

Mary Kay Cabot ‏ @MaryKayCabot #Browns made a strong late push for the No. 2, offering as much as three No. 1s, Schefter reported. Thought they had it nailed.

so it had to of been our first 2 this year and next year...can see why STL would reject this...they already have 2 this year and this draft may not look as good in their eyes as having 2 first round picks next year and the year after

The thing that disappoints me most about this is that the Browns don't have a piece to cash in as bad franchises are making it rain draft picks to acquire high-risk QBs. This deal and the Carson Palmer deal are just insane and I wish the Browns could fall ass-backwards into the kind of bounty the Rams and Bengals are receiving.

Personally thrilled we didn't give up half of our state's worth, anal virginity and self-dignity for the 2 pick.

When we could equally and immediately benefit from talent at WR, RB, CB or QB, it makes no sense to give it all away to get 1. This outrageous move by the Rams gives us a lot of time to play with the 4 pick and we could easily trade down. One of the VERY FEW perks of having as many needs as we do is that we can bump our pick a couple either way and we're still filling a position of desperate need. Claiborne, Blackmon, Richardson...any of those 3 would be nice. Now how low can we slide to get one of them? Can't go wrong with any of the three IMO.

Now let us all pray that we don't have some "genius" backup plan that plots a Tannehill "steal" as we quietly slide down to 7 or 8 and "snag" him. :tongue2:

Don't worry, one way or another the Browns will find a way to piss away those picks.

so heres one thing that still pisses me off about the browns and what i have to say, admire about the redkins....since 1999 (when the browns came into the league) the redskins lose sean taylor, draft jason campbell and then trade him to oakland, get donavan mcnabb, sign albert haynesworth and deangelo hall, hire steve spurrier, signed gibbs again, made the playoffs 3 times and made a bunch of other FA moves that have us all saying dan snyder is insane...but even tho they have made a ton of bad moves over the years, they are in exactly the same spot that the browns are in...think about that...and they have the same if not more cap space then us...and once again they give up a shit ton to go after RGIII but you have to give them credit...they go all in and thats the bottom line...scared money dont make no money - as rappers say...but its true...the browns and the redskins may or may not find themselves in this similar position in 10 years, where we are at the same spot as far as sucking in the NFL...but i can tell you this, at least the Redskins tried their hardest to make it as entertaining as possible for the fans while doing it
