Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

Interesting

Browns owner-in-waiting Jimmy Haslam talked about eventually putting a retractable roof on Cleveland Browns Stadium during a meeting Wednesday morning with Cleveland City Council.

Haslam told council members he plans on inviting three architectural groups to Cleveland soon to examine what it would take to dome the stadium, which opened in 1999 when the Browns were reborn as an expansion team.

Uhhh. Why? To get year round use of the stadium?
I know that historically it has been talked about the brutal weather that comes off the lake starting in December but in my opinion that's part of football. I think they would like to put a dome on it to get more use of it throughout the year with concerts, tournaments, conventions and stuff like that.

The weather in Green Bay has been a homefield advantage since they started playing football they're. It'd be the same here if you can build
a team that can consistently run block and then use it in the colder months.

Yeah, but I think this is not about football as much as it is. This could bring in a lot of revenue for the city, and it would also make Cleveland a possible Super Bowl city.

That way in 2015 it would be a home game for the Browns:biggrin2: I wonder where they would play their home games if in fact this became reality. I guess they might be able to work around it but it would be difficult.
