Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

For RGIII's sake, I desperately hope that the Browns don't draft him. He is way too talented and too good of a guy to be sent to that black hole of professional sports. I'm hoping that either Washington or Miami picks him up and he stands some sort of chance.

No offense, Cleveland fans.

I don't think he stands much of a chance in either of those places, either. :p

Atleast in Cleveland if you give your all and shit doesn't go your way you'll be beloved forever... Washington only remembers you if your a winner, Miami.. well they'll all be at the beach so it really doesn't matter...

The price will only go down when Flynn and Manning find homes. I think that is a fair trade.

Look who's coming around to my way of thinking! :tongue2:

The Rams just might price themselves out of making a trade. If the Browns really want Griffin, the could win it by default. The trick will be for the Browns to stay active in talks and keep the bar somewhere between what the Rams want and where other teams are willing to go.

If the price to go to #2 becomes prohibitive, #4 could become the next most valuable spot in the draft.

well, the value of the 2 2nds is slightly more than the #22 this year, and if cleveland is shitty next year, it's substantially more. so, #4 and #22 is still better value for cleveland, and still a deal I'd make as #22 is basically house money.

So the Browns H&H braintrust are sending messages about not being infatuated with RGIII.
An open letter to the St Louis management.
Just in case you read message boards from Cleveland fans and use fan outrage to try to leverage your draft trade demands with H&H,

This Browns backer is excited about the opportunity to select a WR at #4 and believes that Justin Blackmon is what the Browns franchise needs more than any other player in the draft!
I do not want to give up a #4 and #22 (Michael Floyd WR or Michael Adams RT) for a chance to draft Blackmon at #2!!!!
I also don't want cough up a #37 and gamble on a #2 in '13, which will be likely #36-40, to move up 2 places to select Justin Blackmon.

St. Louis GM please disregard all the BP posters who are in love with RGIII and predict he wil be all pro over the next 12 years,
We already have a young QB solidly in place. We would consider RGIII to be nothing other than a Big 12 substitute, a Colt McCoy clone if you will.

Please also overlook the fact that northeast Ohio typically undervalues wide receivers, considers them to be interchangeable pieces and demonstrates such bias when its media does not elect worthy WR to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
Attitudes are changing in Northeast Ohio and we now embrace the need for a gamechanger at the WR position.

This fan is very content staying at #4 and choosing Justin Blackmon but don't expect us to trade the farm to move to #2 to insure Blackmon is still there when we draft!

Okay I feel like I did my part for the sake of the Browns organization strategy, who's next?

I don't know if this is a point that I failed to communicate earlier, but I've never thought that #4 and #22 would be enough on their own two make the Rams happy. My take on the situation is that any deal they would agree to would likely include #4, #22 and at least one other high pick this year or next, and I want no part of that.

the 4, 22, and 2nd rounder next year is probably their bottom asking number.

Edit: Oops, can't read.

Anyway... that's basically the point value that is fair... I guess they want more.

Dear dipshits, you only get more if someone else is offering more. And the Redskins reported/rumored offer isn't actually more.

cleveland's current offer that was apparently turned down was better than what washington has to offer.

even if washington goes 1-2-3 this year, 1-2 next, cleveland's 4 and 22 and 2013 2nd is still a better deal. however, washington will never offer 5 top picks over 2 years.

the rams are going to price themselves out of the market, and won't get a deal done by FA, and then lose all leverage. the fact that cleveland already has washington trumped without giving up #22 puts washington in the position to think about going the FA route. so, this is quite the game of chicken right now.

Other than, "washington will never" being in this post, exactly.

The Rams have been one of the worst run franchises in the NFL for the better part of the last decade, no reason to believe that'll change now. I have a feeling the clowns will end up getting that pick at the last moment for just what they want. Of course, the fact that Dan Snyder may very well be the other bidder, nothing's guaranteed.

Problem is, the Rams want their cake and to eat it too (shit the fuckers might want to trade down twice, but, most likely they want to be sure of getting Blackmon or Khalil). They want the Browns to get it. So, unless Snyder goes completely off the reservation, we'll get it (or stand pat anyway)

I hope all parties involved tell the Rams to shove it, and let TB have the most valuable pick in the draft. Like you said, the Rams want Khalil anyway, so just let them take him at #2.

All of this talk reminds me of when we traded Detroit a bounty of picks to move up 1 spot to take Winslow when they were going to take Roy Williams regardless.
