Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

Thank you Jim for coming back. I don't care what anyone else thinks you are the greatest running of all time IMO
BEREA, Ohio ---- Maybe this is a sign that the great Jim Brown and the Cleveland Browns are making amends.

Brown told The Plain Dealer on Saturday night that he will be present during Alumni Weekend on Sept. 22-23 when former defensive back Clarence Scott and running back Ernie Green will be inducted into the Cleveland Browns Legends.

?I'll be there to support Ernie,? said Brown late Saturday from his home in Los Angeles.

Yeah - which currently nameless defensive tackle from the SEC will the Browns be taking with the 1st overall pick?

After picking a 28-year old QB in the first round of this past draft, I can only assume whichever player the Clowns select next will be a 200LB offensive lineman.

At least that traitorous Lerner family is gone and I can finally think about being a Clowsn fan again.

Yep. I don't know if I'd call the Lerner family traitorous, I think incompetent would be more apt.

That said, I still wish they would have waited on getting a QB in this past draft. It wasn't a pressing need on a team that isn't going to compete anyway.

Maybe I'm only here but I'm getting excited about the prospects of an actual NFL caliber offense this year. Weeden may be 28 years old but he got an arm that is Favre-like. Richardson is a man-child in the mold of AP. The offense line is top notch and the receivers, although unproven, are talented. I mean Little and Gordon. Massaquoi sucks.

Nothing until after the season and then we'll see. Big Mike is getting paid the next 2 years IIRC so it would be a shame to kick him to the curb. I guess it all rides on who is part of the new ownership team.

It does make more since why it seemed they were treating this past draft as all or nothing. If the team doesn't improve this year everyone will be looking for new jobs after the season. I can't wait until next Friday to see Richardson, Weeden and Gordon on the field.

With the schedule this season I can't really see a best case scenario of more than 8 wins so anything equal or better than last year is improvement. Hopefully Richardson is the best rookie and Weeden is the best rookie QB, which I think are both possible. A lot of the season will ride on the defense being better than last year and Little and Gordon developing into NFL capable WR's to pull coverage away from the run game.

It will be interesting to see if Haslam brings in Banner to be president of the Browns. Some stories have him as part of the ownership group while others are saying that Haslam has not decided about the front office. I would not mind seeing Big Mike leaving but I would hate to lose Heckert.

On another topic, it would be nice for our defensive line to be healthy. Rubin, Rucker, and Taylor on not practicing.

I have noticed good things being said about the WRs and especially Gordon.

"To own such a storied franchise as the Cleveland Browns, with its rich tradition and history, is a dream come true. We are committed to keeping the team in Cleveland and seeing it get back to the elite of the NFL -- something all Browns fans want and deserve."

I don't know where have I heard this before?:paranoid:
