Cleveland Browns (2011 season)

I would absolutely love to trade down, especially given the (IMO) most likely situation. I'm assuming the draft goes something like this: Newton to the Panthers, Dareus/Miller to Broncos, Miller/Dareus to Bills, Green to Bengals, and Peterson to Cardinals. I really don't like the options we have left to choose from. Even worse, the Raiders don't draft in front of us, so we can't just assume that some guy projected to go in the second round ends up bumping Peterson back to us. I guess we can hope that someone trades up to get Gabbert, but I'm not holding my breath. Give me picks, or give me death.

What, you think the Bills and Bengals aren't capable of going out of their fucking minds?

There are some decent receiver prospects in the second and third, like Jerrnigan and a couple of others I like, so I hope we go defense in the first round. I want to see corners or DL...I don't mind trading down, as long as we don't get 2 Jets water boys and a case of jockstraps like we have gotten in the past. The middle rounds will have some talent in them, for once I hope we have the brass that can now find it. I won't be upset at a playmaker at the top, but I think Jones is a risk, and Green might be too. But if we get them, I'm good. The guy I don't want is Bowers and his 12 fucked up knees...other than that, we'll take whoever and get them going.

Of course Michael Floyd could probably be had this summer for a 2nd or 3rd round pick next year if you don't mind someone with a drinking problem.

I don't. If Michael Floyd were in this draft I'd have him ranked as the #3 receiver by a WIDE-ASS margin. Kid has great hands, good size, and is by all accounts a good team player and kid.

Michael Floyd will be a steal.....guaranteed.

I know luck hasn't been on his side, but I don't think it accurately portrays the person.

I'm personally hoping for AJ Green or Patrick Peterson. If either of those players are available at 6, then BPA has shown it's head and we get one of them.

I've got a weird feeling both are gone though.

If that is the case I hope we can slide down to a position where Blaine Gabbert is a need to another team and we get a solid enough pick where Julio Jones is still available.

I love myself some Colt McCoy and I just hope he has enough weapons where he doesn't look like shit and force the hand of the front office to make a change.

If Cam slips, the Bills definitely take him. Otherwise, I think they are forced to make a good pick. Same for the Bengals, losing TO and probably Ochocinco = Green. Can't mess that up, unless they like Jones more.

Not feeling good about this 1st round as it seems like the guys I like will be gone just before the Browns pick (for the 3rd yr in a row). I think the 1st 5 will be Newton, Peterson, Dareus, Green and Miller in some order. If that happens my best case scenario would be that someone wants to trade up for Gabbert. I've resigned myself to being okay with Fairley in this situation as there is no question about his talent, he was productive against good competition and he could help give the defense some nasty. The guy I don't want is Quinn (soft against the run, minimal production when he played against good teams, attitude/health questions).

This and NO BOWERS. The only way I would keep the number 6 pick is IF Green, Peterson or Dareus is available. No one and I mean no one else is worth that pick..not Newton, not Miller AND definetly not Jones. TRADE DOWN DAMN IT!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO IT!!!

Floyd is a beast. I agree with you about him.

I think there's going to be enough talent at the 6th position no matter who gets taken ahead that I would be surprised if the Browns traded down.

This is how I see it going..
1) Carolina - Newton
2) Denver - Dareus
3) Buffalo - Gabbert
4) Cinci - Green
5) Arizona - Miller

I think those players will be off the board. If Gabbert isn't a Bill, he'll be a Bengal. If the Bills don't take Gabbert, they take Miller. Arizona then takes Peterson.

That leaves Jones, Bowers, Quinn, Fairley and Amukamara. All of whom play at positions of need. I don't know about Bowers and Quinn, even though they might be the two most talented. I think Amukamara could be a fantastic #2 (at worst), but 6 might be a reach. Fairley would be ideal in the system. I'm high on Jones.

The Bengals fuck everything up. Everyone knows they're going to draft someone ridiculous. It's a good thing Oakland isn't up there.

There are two players that I will be ecstatic to see sitting at #6...A.J. Green or Patrick Peterson. If neither are there, I hope they trade down. This is about as much uncertainty in the top-5 that I can remember in some time...

I hope you're right about Gabbert. If he goes before we pick, we're pretty much guaranteed a solid option (probably either one of the two NF mentioned).

I just think there are three teams ahead of the Browns that need QBs.. Buffalo, Cinci, Arizona. I have a hard time believing he'll drop out of the top five for that reason alone.

I think Newton at #1 could be a Jamarcus Russell level mistake, but hey, what do I know?

I forgot to mention Peterson somehow in my list of players too. I have no idea how I forgot him, because he's #1 on my list. I do have a list, I get pretty into the draft. If he's there, he's a no-brainer.
