Cleveland Browns (2011 season)

I hope they don't trade that far down. Depth is nice, but so are the impact players you're more likely to get at 6 than 27.
I agree with your thinking plus the fact that Jones has closed the gap between himself and green due to 40 times.

It's now a race. Jones has narrowed the gap between himself and Green to the point where I'm told by two teams with receiver needs that they favor Jones. Draft czar Gil Brandt says, "The gap has closed. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jones picked ahead of Green at this point.''

I agree here fully...trading away from the Sanchise for a good center and 3 (unfortunately wasted) 2nd rounders was fine, but there are impact players on both sides this year...nothing we get in any 2nd or 3rd round is going to beat what Green or Peterson could give us.

If the Browns are stupid enough to trade down in this trade and NOT get next year's first (along with this year's first) and at least a 2nd rounder and/or a player, well, yeah, nothing's gonna change.

They need an impact player. There should be one available at #6.

Peterson
Fairley
Green
Jones
Bowers

More than one of those guys will be available, and I think all of them could be great picks for the Browns. Fairley is the one I question the most.. maybe it's just because I hate him.

I mention Bowers because he's been slipping on draft boards lately from what I hear.

I know it's silly to say I'd buy a copy of Madden because of the cover, but if Hillis is on it I just might. I'm more of an NCAA guy and haven't bought Madden since it was one of about 5 games available on launch day for the original Xbox.

A lot of "experts" think the Browns will draft Jones at #6.

All I know is this, if Peterson is still on the board and we take Jones, I might drive into Lake Erie.
I'm not crazy about Jones either. Freakish measurables, but prone to the dropsies. Who does that remind you of?

Exactly.

His game speed is actually slower than his timed speed.

Not real impressed. Would take him around 15-20, but not anywhere close to the top 10. Also injury prone as well.
