This team is so fucking bad...the defense was actually better than I thought (of course the TB O sucks), but the OL got beat all day, Delhomme sucked and got hurt, Hillis had fumbleitis and the receivers didn't get open for 3 quarters. Long, long, LONG way to go.

i really hope the rumors about cleveland being interested in vincent jackson are true.

but it won't really matter if delhomme is going to be a spaz in the pocket.

If the right side of the line isn't going to block somebody it is going to be a long season (which I think it is). Pork Chop Womack has stuffed one too many down that gizzard.

Delhomme looked like the second coming of Jeff Garcia.

Why I also would love to see Jackson in a Browns uniform, I have read that the asking price is fairly high like a second round this year and next. Perhaps I am wrong.

I know that Luavo was injured and that is why he did not play RG but where was Pashos at RT.

I did not get to see the second half but I heard that Barton recovered a fumble and just laid on top of the ball with no Tampa Bay players around him. Also, when did Jake get hurt:huh: and why didn't they give Wallace a shot at QB if Jake was indeed hurt .

I think it was late in the 2nd quarter Jake got hurt...he came up limping and never really recovered. He was shit all 2nd half, not sure why Wallace didn't get a shot, other than to avoid a "controversy".

Barton did fall on the ball with no one around...I too thought he should have tried to pick it up and run, but it's hard to get mad at a guy from the front 7 who falls on the ball and protects it, considering how many times some asshat tried to be a hero and ends up fumbling the ball right back to the offense at the end of the play. The fact that the O sucked nipple all second half isn't Barton's fault, he did the right (but conservative) thing IMO.

I can respect your opinion, but I've replayed the fumble recovery 3 times, and I get more upset each time I view it. This wasn't a fumble recovery where if he takes time to scoop it there is a chance someone steals it from him. There were literally zero offensive players with a chance at recovering the football.

It's a goaline play, all of the offensive players are packed tight on the line, the fumble occours and the ball lands around the 5 yard line behind all of the players in a huge pile. Barton runs over and jumps on the ball like it's an onside kick. You're right in saying it was the conservative play, but it also showed no field awareness whatsoever.

We're down 3 points with 2 minutes left and an opportunity like that presents itself, you have to make the right play. Barton did not. And to top it off he celebrated his fumble recovery like a jack-ass as if he had accomplished something. He did nothing on the play except jump on a football with nobody around. In fact the first person to him was another Browns player, and 2 seconds after that he's touched by a Bucs player. Not only could of Barton just scooped up the football and taken it to the house, he could have been aware enough to jump on it, look up, and hand it to the player on his feet.

I mean we're talking about seconds here, not split seconds. It just wasn't heads up at all. And the Browns won't win many games this year anyways, so in the scheme of things who cares?...but professionals should be better than that. That play would have won the game for Cleveland.

I think you're being a bit harsh there....being that he's a Brown, had he tried to pick it up, I'm sure he would have kicked it out of bounds or something dumb. He gave the ball back to the offense - everything else is just gravy at that point.

I'm gonna make a not-so-bold prediction: Eric Mangini doesn't survive the season...

I know we're talking about the Browns here, but Barton is a supposed professional football player. He should be able to scoop and score. In college, that's the right play. If you get a weekly paycheck to play football though, you should be able to better than smothering it in the fetal position.

Let me see. How long has Mangini been his HC:eek: I think the guy standing next to him was Jason Trusnik and I believe he came from the same team.
