Cleveland Browns (2010 season)

What a fantastic move by the Browns. They get Gocong, a pretty solid LBer, and a DB who will start and make plays. He's a great addition. He can get beat sometimes (who doesn't?), but he can bring the wood and force turnovers. Great addition. Sheldon Brown is actually one of my favorite players for some reason (has been for a while, no idea why).

And all they gave up were Hall and two mid-round picks? Awesome.

Brown can play either S or CB, so I honestly don't think this affects the draft too much. Could be way off here. If Berry is there, they take him and Brown sticks at corner. If not (and they don't go d-line), trade down for Haden and maybe move Brown to safety. He's a versatile player and a good one at that.

heres a list of possible DT the browns could draft in the 1st and 2nd rounds...their order is the possibility of them being drafted the highest

Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh
Oklahoma DT Gerald McCoy
Tennessee DT Dan Williams
Alabama DT Terrence Cody
UCLA DT Brian Price

suh and mccoy are probably gone...i would love to see us possibly trade down if not once but twice to go down and get Cody at around #20...one thing i find it hard to see the browns doing is the whole act of trading down...we need a impact player and i could see us bypassing a DT and taking possibly Dez Bryant...dont laugh it could happen...what i love about the draft tho is you never know what team is going to take what and a McCoy could possibly fall to pick 7...should be a interesting Thursday night in April
Suh and McCoy will be long gone, as will Berry. Cody's tits are too big to play in the NFL.

Right now, I'm leaning towards wanting to trade down again. I don't see anybody there worth picking at #7 that equal value couldn't be had 10-15 picks lower.

I remember telling my Steeler-centric son (daveeb) that Holmgren calling shots for the Browns would signal a tectonic shift in the balance of powers in the AFC North.

Moves like this are why I said that. Think Brownies, this is really just the beginning. This is the kind of boon that you get when one bright man makes a deal with a brighter man.

Tomlin & Rooney's ears just perked up, Mike Brown just dropped a deuce and Ozzie Newsome's speed-dial went into overdrive.

Times are changing, give it a couple of years and the Browns could be real contenders for Division Champions.

it's hardly a given that berry will be long gone. if the rams take bradford, it's very possible that berry is on the board at #7.

I had been thinking the Browns would have to get really lucky to get a shot at Eric Berry once they started ruining their draft position by winning meaningless games at the close of last season. Now it's looking more and more realistic. SI.com's latest mock draft has him falling to the Browns at #7. God, I hope this happens...

BTW, this mock also has Jimmah experiencing a free fall clear to the Vikings at #30. He was projected to be picked by Washington in the previous version.

Peter King and his boys are terrible with regards to the NFL, but I would love to see Berry fall to us. Be right for once, Peter.

That mock draft was accompanied by this picture on their NFL front page:

Defense, defense, defense. You can win a Super Bowl with Trent fucking Dilfer, but not with a crappy secondary that can't make plays.

Totally agree... I just really hope Berry is there. I am trying not to think of what happens if he isn't.

BINGO!!!

Let's get back to the love affair with Eric Berry!!! And the collective prayers that he be there at #7.

Also... seems like Colt McCoy is picking up steam as the guy Holmgren is liking in this draft.

That's my dream 1-2 for the Browns right now.
