Someone called into Jim Rome's show today from Youngstown, Ohio.

The person said he'd heard serious rumors about the Browns trading Jake Delhomme to Arizona for Larry Fitzgerald and a 2nd round pick.

I almost drove off the road...
No way we give up a second round pick. I'm sure Heckert is trying to work a deal for Fitz and sending Delhome and a 6th.

you wouldnt give up a second round pick for fitzgerald? and i doubt there are any trades involving delhomme when he is owed 5.4 million next season, and the browns were rumored to be straight up releasing him soon

That would be the worst. trade. ever. by Arizona. I mean seriously way worse than Quinn for Hillis. We'd be into Lou Brock to the Cardinals territory. Gehrig and Ruth for Luis Valbuena and a rack of bats. I mean Arizona trades for another dopey Browns QB with no mobility who throws picks like jackrabbits fuck, and gives up their only marketable asset to do it? NFW.

I would make bad so fast it would make my head spin. I mean Fitzgerald is probably one of the top three receivers in the NFL and we could use the second round money to pick up a DT or whatever.

That would be the worst trade in the history of sports for the Cardinals.

2011-12 is Fitzgerald's walk year. Delhomme would be a throwaway piece of course. I don't give up a significant draft pick though unless there's a strong chance of him signing an extension.

BTW, in looking up the details of his contract, I saw that if the Cardinals put the franchise tag on him in 2012, they have to pay him $23 million. I'd be looking to move him too, if I were them.

are you high?

If they want Delhomme and a 2nd for Fitz you don't think about it for a
second before you say yes.

He has to be sarcastic in that post.

Because:

1) Everyone knows that Jake has negative value at this point
2) The main piece in the deal would be the pick
3) IT'S LARRY FITZGERALD, A DELHOMME AND A 6TH??? NO!

We really need a designated sarcasm font. I would be willing to give up a 1st and a second rounder for Fitz.
