I've said it for a while now.

Von Miller was productive in a 4-3. Hes was productive in a 3-4.

I'd love to have him at either the WILL or SAM.

edit; Yet as much as I'd love to have him, I think the front 4 (next to WR) still take priority.
He could play a hybrid DE (similar to Ware) in a 4-3 and the number of free agent wide receivers this year is just ridiculous so this could address both problems with one and a half swing.

Assuming we could lure one of those FA WR to Cleveland.

I don't see the Jets parting ways with Santonio. Vincent Jackson might be a possibility.

edit: After reading that article about the offense then looking towards the draft - I'd love to pick up Havili out of USC (FB).
He's a decent run blocker, great receiver coming out of the backfield as well.

edit: reading the reports on the Senior Bowl practice.

Wouldn't mind the Brownies taking a long look at these guys. Especially since I've had the chance to watch them all play.

Titus Young WR
Christian Ballard DT/DE
Ryan Kerrigan DE
Greg Jones LB

Cleveland Browns should take WR A.J. Green or DE Robert Quinn with sixth overall pick -- Mel Kiper Jr.

By Tony Grossi, The Plain Dealer

CLEVELAND -- ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. thinks he's got the Browns' top draft candidates at No. 6 nailed down. "I think it's pretty easy to project the Cleveland Browns in terms of what they need and what will be there," Kiper said on a conference call today. "A.J. Green and Robert Quinn would be the two candidates."
Green is the draft's top-rated receiver from Georgia. He's 6-4 and 212 pounds and Kiper said he could play in any offensive style.
Quinn, a 6-5, 268-pound defensive end from North Carolina, is one of the many highly rated defensive linemen in the coming draft. Quinn, a junior, missed the 2010 season after being declared "permanently eligible" for accepting improper benefits.
Kiper officially lists Green as his choice for the Browns in his first mock draft.
"He's an angular kid, beats you vertically, a good route runner," Kiper said. "He took hits in traffic and didn't give up the football. I don't see any major hole in his game. I think Green translates pretty much to any offense with the skill level he has."
Kiper doesn't buy the theory that wide receivers shouldn't be taken so high in the first round.
"I look back at Larry Fitzgerald. Would you have been shy about taking him? Would you have been shy about taking Andre Johnson? I don't think so," he said. "There's been other examples of guys going pretty early that have done very very well. I don't shy away from it.
"You look at the sixth pick, it's not the first, second or third pick. A.J. Green is worthy of being one of the top guys. He's no. 3 on my board. Julio Jones (of Alabama) I have at 10. It's not like you're taking him No. 1 overall or No. 2. So I don't see the fear at six."
Kiper said if the Browns consider a pass rusher to fit into their expected new, 4-3 defensive front a greater need, Quinn would be the guy.
Quinn was expected to be one of the top three players chosen in the draft until he was ruled ineligible for the 2010 season for accepting about $5,600 in agent-related benefits and travel accomodations.
"f you feel you have to get that pass rusher, Robert Quinn could be a tremendous pass rusher in the NFL," Kiper said. "This kid was unbelievable two years ago. He's gonna be a freakish workout guy. You might feel this kid can be an unbelievable guy.
"He would've been a first, second or third pick had he played this year. You can make an argument for Quinn, no question."
Kiper said a "no-brainer" would be Clemson defensive end DaQuan Bowers, but he expected him to be taken before the Browns' pick at No. 6.

 I know that their former WR went back to Rutgers but I don't even know Wilson. I have heard the name Billy Davis mentioned with the Browns but don't know in what capacity.

George McDonald went to the U.

Wilson coached Boldin/Fitzgerald when they first made it to the league...been in the UFL for the past two seasons. He won 4 chips with SF in the 80s.

Davis is not the new DC but has coached at the linebacker position and the defensive line. Hagen(TE coach) and Warhop(OL coach) are holdovers from Mangini.

Special teams coach
The Cleveland Browns named Chris Tabor as special teams coordinator, the team announced on January 25, 2011. Tabor brings 18 years of coaching experience between the high school, college and professional levels, including the last three as the Chicago Bears? assistant special teams coach.

Browns may go without offensive coordinator

As the Cleveland Browns continue to search for an offensive coordinator, the best candidate for the job may be no offensive coordinator at all.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Browns have hired Mark Whipple (pictured) to serve as quarterbacks coach, a step that?s being interpreted as an indication that the Browns won?t have a traditional coordinator to run the offense.
Whipple, who served as quarterbacks coach in Pittsburgh before heading to the college ranks, wasn?t retained by the University of Miami in the wake of the Randy Shannon firing. Whipple also was considered to be a finalist for the Connecticut job.
Browns coach Pat Shurmur, who served as offensive coordinator in St. Louis during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, has said he?ll call the plays in Cleveland. That reality necessarily makes the job less attractive to a candidate who would be hoping to truly run the offense.
The only potential concern is that Shurmur may be stretched too thin. If he is, he can always rely on team president Mike Holmgren to lend a hand. Especially since Holmgren seems to be eager to have more involvement in the coaching function in 2011.

Does anyone else think that Shurmer is getting in too far over his head. First year head coach who is running the offense and calling plays sounds like too much. Should we start a VBet until how long they bring it is until they bring in an OC?
