We're countering the defenses in Baltimore and Pittsburgh with...with...with...Whipple, Shurmur, and no OC? Yeah, that ought to work. Hand the ball off until Hillis gets killed, then noddle-dick some 3 yard checkdowns. Haven't seen this coming before :shake:

im to the point where we have tried everything else before, why not do what everyone thinks will fail from the start...and then if that does fail it will be a easier fix...fire the head coach and next time hire a OC with the head coach...and boom goes the dynamite

That's BL's point...we HAVE tried this crap before....

Maybe McCoy is talented enough to overcome it, but we've seen this very same setup happen time and again since this damned franchise has come back.

so your referring to the chris palmer days? i believe his first year, and the first year the browns were back in the NFL, he did not have a OC and called plays himself...we also had no talent back then either...im not saying not having a OC will work, but the point is this is how the browns are rolling this year...apparently holmgren doesnt have a problem with it, and as ive said earlier, IN HOLMGREN I TRUST

So, you wouldn't want a DT/DE that's a 1st round talent to be picked in the 2nd round?

I'm not seeing the issue here.

sorry...i do like your draft...whenever i see the name Cam i automatically think of the ninja turtle from auburn...Heyward in the first round would be nice but i hate the idea of trading picks in this years draft...especially for a DT/DE as much as i love heyward...many draft experts and scouts have said this is the deepest draft for DL in years

I'm not talking about trading 1st rounders bud. We have an extra 6th round pick, and using it without 2nd rounder to have the 33rd pick for Heyward, IMHO - would be an awesome move.

In a 4-3 that gives you a run stuffing tackle with Rubin, and a tackle with a little more burst and ability to rush the passer a bit in Heyward.

i wasnt either bud....like i said i like the idea to get heyward, but i dont like the idea of trading draft picks of any round to move up a few spots to select heyward...he should be gone in the first round anyways

Righty then, glad we're on the same page.

He should be gone in the 1st round, I just have this sneaking suspicion he won't.

Well "buds" there is a lot of speculation that Cam will fall to round 2 after his injury, so it is possible he will still be there :banger:

I really like the though of AJ Green in a Browns uni next season.

I'm also hopeful that Hardesty is able to contribute, but this is a guy with injury issues in college and the right out of the gate he misses his rookie season with an injury. I'm not optimistic about Hardesty.

If the Browns could sign Vincent Jackson that would be huge. RT needs to be addressed in the draft as does a run stuffing DT.

With the way they have stockpiled picks the last few drafts this should be a good year as far as the draft goes.

this is another thing if the CBA ever gets fucking done...we could eliminate the needs for either WR, CB, OL or DL in the draft thru free agency...theres plenty of talent at all those positions...i think ive posted a free agent list a few times in this thread for people to look at...regardless of who we take in the first round, this pick has to be the future of the franchise and someone we can count on for more then just 3 years...i also like the idea of getting AJ Green in the first round...but i also like the idea of (pipe dream) signing a Sidney Rice or Vincent Jackson and then having the option to take a DT instead of a AJ Green...or fuck it, take AJ Green and then have one of the best WR corps in the NFL for years...getting good FA's and having a great draft could turn this team around regardless of if the Shurminator or Mary Kay Cabot is the head coach
