i think it will be a huge mistake if we pull colt as starter to put in delhomme or wallace...with so many good 1st round QB's next year i think we need to get more looks at colt to see if hes really the QB of our future...ive liked what ive seen from colt so far and would love to see how he plays with some proven talent at WR...great win sunday and hopefully with a bye week this week we can get hillis healed and get more plays and reps for colt

This draft is deep at RB, DB and on defense in general. That also happens to be where the Browns are hurting the most.

A franchise QB isn't going to make or break the Browns but not being able to run the ball or stop the other teams' offenses WILL....

He is 10x the player Wright is...

I hope that this is sarcasm. Elam is simply a stop-gap player to fill a role sought out by the coaching staff until better talent can be brought in. Eric Wright is going to be fine and his physical abilities will shine through when the secondary becomes more organized and starts following assignments.

ya i agree this draft is deep at those positions as well but with Luck, Mallet, and Locker all there, you have to think the browns will be looking at them if Colt McCoy isnt the answer...Cant see us taking a RB or a DB as our first round pick when we just got Haden and spent a 2nd rounder on Hardesty...especially since we will probably have a top 10 pick again...and last i checked we were running the ball pretty well

Locker? Really? :slappy:

Mallet MIGHT be the best pro, but I don't think that will say very much. Beyond that he's looked shaky against the two legit defenses he's faced this year.

Luck is a Redshirt Sophomore. I doubt he'll be in the draft.

Locker? Just say no. The accuracy just isn't there.

Mallet I'm on the fence about.

Luck I'd take, he fits the mold of what we want. Smart, mobile, good decisions and takes care of the football. Nothing flashy, just getting the job done.

The only reason we run the ball well is because its what we HAVE to do to succeed. We dont have the WR's, QB or pass protection to be slinging around the rock. I'd still love to see us grab some type of RT moving forward.

Again, I'm not sold on Hardesty being a contributor in his career. I pray I'm wrong, but I feel he wont be able to ever get healthy to become a factor.

luck is eligible for the 2011 draft...if he gets a high draft ranking from the scouts he could very well go...locker's draft stock has plummeted this year yes but with a good rest of the year he could find himself back in the first round...and i doubt hes even dropped out of the first round completely but you never know...brady quinn and clausen's draft stocks dropped on the day of the draft...if the browns were to take a QB in the first round i would like either Luck or Mallet...ive liked what ive seen from both of them...ideally i would like to see us get Marcell Dareus or AJ Green...Dareus because who knows how long Rogers is going to be with the browns and we could use a good DE/DT like Dareus...AJ green because hes the best receiver in the draft and we need a #1 that can play from day 1...like i said from my original comment was that i want us to play colt from here on out to see if he really is our QB for the future going forward...you cant deny if he isnt then taking a QB in next years draft early will not be out of the question especially with Holmgren around

don't you guys bother reading posts before you make
your own. I mean this was right above your post. Only 2 years of college football. I don't think he is going anyplace either unless he makes himself out to be the next Sammy Baugh before the season ends.

I would like to retract my statement made to NFBuck yesterday regarding the possibility of Ryan leaving the Browns for a HC position with another team. I did not realize that he almost got the head coaching position when Cable was hired by the Raiders. I know that doesn't say a whole lot but he was considered. Also, in reading some articles and listening to a few Browns shows on TV he is extremely well-liked by the players and that is why they play so hard for them. I wonder if someone did offer him a HC position if Holmgren would say bye-bye Mangini and keep Ryan.

i wish this would happen...i like ryan alot and i would perfer him over mangini as head coach just because of his personality alone...the guy is the most passionate coordinator that we have had in a long time...only person that could come remotely close was grantham but i think he was just yelling at how bad some of our players were out of position...he would be a great head coach i think...i would hate to lose him from the organization so if it was between him and mangini i would take ryan

luck is a RS Soph. that's 3 years removed. he's projected to be the first pick of the draft. he's coming out.

I know
that he is three years removed = RS Soph but that's still only 2 years of playing college football. If you say he is coming out, I know that your contacts are pretty good but he won't be there when the Browns pick so what's the diff.

And your targeting my post why? Its not like I'm being negative or in no way making a contribution.

Hell if anything yoyo's post was pretty much the clone of mine, just with a few different words and sentence structure.

And he's been a starting QB 2 years, as other's have pointed out a RS soph.
So please let me know where your getting at. Its not like you need "contacts" to determine that he's been dubbed one of the top draft targets overall.
