Cleveland Browns (2010 season)

GO BROWNIES!!! HELL YES. We are going in the right direction. Not to look in the past but we could easily be about 4-2 or 5-1 right now.... Whatever. I still like Mangini, always have, always will probably. We just don't have the talent right now to make any judgements on a coach.

We are winning and staying close in these games because of SCHEME and HEART, just like the end of last year. Two things that have to do with coaching...

McCoy looks like he has potential. He has the look of a QB like we haven't seen here in a long time. Kid is calm, smart, and confident and he can make the throws. I don't wanna say he will be good because Cleveland can wreck a career in a heartbeat but things are looking up for Colt and the Browns.

GO BROWNS!! CROWN THE BROWNS!

I haven't given up on Hardesty, but him being so prone to injury really hurts his chances with this team. Again, with a draft that's projected to be deep at RB, I doubt it will hurt to grab one. I mean, does anyone think Mike Bell is really going to be on roster next year? James Davis will most likely be gone if Bell is getting carries over him (damn shame too, I wanted that kid to work out)

Hillis IMHO is an every down back, however I would really love to have that change of pace, home-run threat behind Colt. Somebody to effectively spell him because he's a very much a downhill runner and he's going to take a beating as the season goes on. But I want The Moose as a corner-stone to this power running game, sign him long term; he'll be beyond his value come the winter months. Yet as much as I'd love to take offense with the first pick, we're still the AFC North - defense has priority.

Marcell Dareus, Heyward, Clayborne - basically a DE. We need a playmaking DE. Rodger's isn't getting younger. Rubin appears to be fine for NT. A DE that can draw the occasional double team, push the pocket, and help clog running lanes.

Linebacker is in need of an upgrade too. OLB, boils down to pass rush. Von Miller anyone?

RB - Daniel Thomas? Kid might just be available in the first half of the 3rd round. If not, Kendall Hunter, Armando Allen? I'd love to get Murray but I don't see that happening. Maybe his injury history will knock him to the 2nd round...

WR: Jones, Green, Baldwin, Posey, Floyd, Hankerson, Blackmon...anyone? Insanely deep WR class. DV might not come out, but I'm tossing his name just in case. I don't mind having the smart, hardworking receivers we do now, but a bonafide/legit #1 WR who command the attention of the entire opposing secondary is a damn fine thing to have. That will allow Stuckey, Cribbs, Robo, Moore and Watson some room to run.

S: Whatever you have to do to get Elam out of there. If that means putting Sheldon back full time FS I'm fine. It's not a longterm answer, but it does allow us to focus on other area's of need until FA or the 2012 Draft.

RT: Sherrod, Cannon, Carimi. I'm tossing out names, but these are options if we somehow end up in the tail end of the 1st (except Sherrod, that kid will be top 20 material)

I agree on where we have needs. I think we have to get a playmaker at Receiver if we wanna put up any points. Receiver is the priority in my opinion. If you can get AJ Green then do it.

Hillis is a fine back (how long will he last though??) and he's getting the job done fine enough to wait a couple rounds for a RB. Also we have Hardesty and Bell doesn't look awful.

MUST MUST MUST get rid of Elam!!! SO BAD!!!!

You are right, we need RT, OLB, and DE help as well..... They are all of about the same importance in my opinion but I guess I'd say DE and OLB above RT because we have to find a way to get some more pressure without bringing the house.

This^

I know this will seem like a schitzoid Browns fan thing to say but the organization and fans need to ride this out with Mangini.... I think he is a good coach especially if Holmgren makes personell decisions. Look the trash is gone we have a core building of tough hardnosed players that fit Cleveland football (think Hillis, Mccoy, Fujita, Cribbs...) if we add a true one at reciever and get a shut down corner we are competing for the AFC north.... you add a pass rusher and a lightning to go with Hillis thunder and we are in business

First of all they don't play the same position. Second of all 10 times??? Third of all you are flat out wrong. Abe Elam is awful.

Your last sentence makes it sound like Wright isn't awful.

They're both completely useless in the secondary. Neither is worth the debate.

There was a time when Wright could at least cover someone to make up for the fact that he simply refused to tackle anything.

I even heard some talk of him being a somewhat under-rated cover corner.

Now, not only does he still not tackle or support the run - he can't cover a fucking plastic bag in the wind.

I don't think of it in terms of "replacing". But sliding Haden over to the opposing teams #1 WR I'm sure will be happening more and more often.

I'll take Wright as a NB, but even as a #2 he looks terrible. Parrish Cox would have been a great pickup in the 3rd-4th round right about now :(

From the above link

The Cleveland Browns added a receiver who should be very familiar to AFC North fans.

Cleveland announced Tuesday that it signed former Baltimore Ravens receiver Demetrius Williams. The team also claimed running back Thomas Clayton off the New England Patriots' practice squad and released James Davis and Yamon Figurs.

Williams played for the Ravens from 2006-09 and was cut earlier this year. He showed flashes of talent in Baltimore but had problems staying healthy. But Williams may have a shot to stick in Cleveland, because receiver is one of the team's biggest needs.

It always seems like the Browns pick up a guy from a team that they are about to play. Get some info from them and then let them go:)
