Cleveland Browns (2009 Season)

if grossi says mangini is gone, then i'd bet the mortgage that he's returning next year. grossi is a total clown, plain and simple. he gets nothing right, and has had an admitted vendetta against mangini since the day he was hired. grossi is trash, plain and simple.

+1 Grossi is a ritard and I don't bother listening to anything he has to say anymore

+1, though I think he's more of a moran.

A moran? Not a dupshet?

Really?? It seems like Grossi just hates Mangini. If you've been reading him it's pretty obvious.

Mangini is a good coach. He deserves his shot. I think he can turn this team around..

As do I, but he won't...because he [censored]ing sucks.

this is the same grossi that was on the radio with Rizzo (possibly a bigger idiot, but definately twice the douchebag) and said with respect to mangini that he better win now, or he will try to run him out of town.

grossi's a hack that has nothing now that phil savage and his media leaks are gone. opie was the master of slipping the media tidbits in exchange for favorable commentary.

Grossi is an idiot...if you listen to his weekly podcasts he has as much insight on football and the Browns as a 7 year old.
I was listening to the Browns Red Zone last night and Grossi said that all of you guys do not know one thing about professional football:lol:

He also reported that the Plain Dealer reported six weeks ago that Cowher would be coaching again next year when all of the national media were saying he would not. So he said "take that" :slappy:

You noticed he said the "Plain Dealer" reported it six weeks ago. It was probably Mary Kay Cabot who found out.

maybe Terry Pluto:)

I think if Haden is available when we pick he might be a nice addition and Mike Adams could be moved back to safety because I doubt if Pool will ever play football again. Maybe I will be wrong.

I think we could slide into a 4-3 pretty easily with Rogers and Rubin playing DTs with Williams and the other Rogers playing the other defensive end. We can always substitute Wembley and Roth on passing situations unless you want to play Wembley permanently at a DE. I guess who the Browns draft will depend so much on if Mangini is retained or not.

1. they've been saying cowher has been coming back for years, evenctually they'll be proven right.

2. they've continually said that cowher will end up in either carolina or cleveland, neither of which are probable right now. that was a whiff.

3. i guess it shows how low you've sunk when you say the same thing for years upon years, then pat yourself on the back when you have the possibility of being partially correct.

4. terry pluto is the only one worth anything over there. the rest are worthless hacks at best.

I will not drag this on any further but personally I like him. I think he has some contacts around the NFL that many writers do not have And he has some pretty personal ties to ex-Cleveland Browns coaches JMO. Don't take it personal:)

this was partially true 2 years ago. grossi and company had phil savage and his cronies spon-feeding them tidbits of info to run with. mangini destroyed all of that. remember all the talks about leaks being sealed up and people leaving the scouting and personnel departments? since that happened, grossi's had a vendetta against mangini for killing his cash cow. as a result, he's done nothing but continually thow shit against a wall to see what sticks. hell, even when savage was spoon feeding him, grossi still did the same thing, but he at least had a few other morsels to give him credibility. his next step was to try and get malcontent players like shaun smith to dish dirt and then blow that out of proportion. grossi is a worthless hack, plain and simple.

i give a homeless panhandler on the street more respect than grossi, because at least the panhandler doesn't try to defraud people as to what he really is.

However, I just can't see the Browns taking a RB in the first round because of their other needs and I still maintain that Spiller is very close to Harrison and Davis when it comes to size and stature. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/12/28/it-would-be-stunning-if-browns-kept-mangini/

Oh I agree that the Browns won't take a RB in the 1st round, nor should they.

I haven't forgotten about Davis; hell, I was thrilled that they drafted him and thought that he was the steal of the draft. Still may be, hopefully we will know next year. I am not completely sold on Jennings. I do like what he has done this year in the time he has been in there and maybe he is the 3rd back for next year.

Cribbs: Holmgren to re-do contract

Josh Cribbs and his agent said Friday that new president Mike Holmgren has given the Browns the green light to re-do Cribbs' contract. "Holmgren already gave the word to the coach and to the organization here," said Cribbs. "I'm sure he's going to start out on the right foot and take care of me. He knows football and he takes care of players and builds programs."
Cleveland Plain Dealer

Get it done Mike.

Take it FWIW, but e!spn reporting Mangini will meet with Holmgren on Monday and there will be a press conference on Tuesday. My gut tells me he's gone. I just think Holmgren's gonna want his own guy in there and Mangini doesn't seem like a good fit for his philosophies.

To me, Mangini deserves credit for putting together the best Browns O-Line in years. He also has to be given credit for bringing in a lot of talent. Bottom line imho he'll leave the team much better than he found it.

I'm not sure how I feel about Mangini, but I can say I'll be fucking pissed if we have to start over again. Ridiculous.

I'm pretty indifferent to him. I think he's done a solid job keeping this team playing hard, but he also has to own the mess he created from the start of the season through week 12. The wins are nice, but they've been against a very weak schedule. I think Mangini is a decent coach, but if Holmgren is going to go out and find somebody better that can put an actual system in place, I'm fine with moving on. I won't look at it as starting over again. Hell, this year was a wash from the start. I don't think there were any home run hires out there as far as coaches were concerned last year. Everybody was so crazy about McDaniel the first six weeks and the donkeys have fallen apart. Holmgren is a smart guy. I trust him to find a GM and coach that will finally move this franchise in the right direction. Maybe I'm crazy, but I really do feel that way. What the Browns have always needed was a buffer between Lerner and the actual team. Well, they got one.
