Devin Hester 101...he's basically disappeared from special teams, and he isn't that great of a receiver either. Never understood that, considering the # of TDs he used to score. Dante Hall ended up with the same problem.

I guess one of the things that I don't understand is that they say the only deep threat that the Browns had was Edwards. I would be interested in knowing Edwards, Robo, and Mass's 40 time when they were tested at the combine. It's hard for me to phantom that Edwards is that much faster than Robo or Mass.

How many times have professional teams tried to get the utility guy to be an every down/day player at one position and failed miserably? Cribbs is an excellent special teams guy, and occasional spark to the offense. Stop trying to make the guy an every down WR and put him in situationally, and pay the man to be what he's good at...

Not many college QB's out there that have been converted to #1 receivers or #2's for that matter. The handful out there haven't done what Cribbs has been doing. That's what makes him the best player on the team. Cribbs is the best special teamer out there bar none. If he can catch a few balls or take a few snaps a game that is just some extra icing on the cake. The man needs to be paid what he's worth and on that team it should be some good coin.

Robo always struck me as more of a possession receiver, but I though of Massaquoi as a slightly smaller version of Braylon with more consistent hands. I think they will be a decent pair once they develop. If I had to guess who has the fastest 40 of those 3 guys I'd put my money on Massaquoi. Just get DA to throw the ball to Robo next week and see what happens. It might open up some of the other guys. When you don't have 1 dominate WR you need to spread it around so the D doesn't know what's coming. I'm pretty sure Peyton Manning's favorite receiver is the open one.
They also need to get Cribbs more involved in the offense. Not as a WR, but as a Slash type player. How many teams would like to have a Wildcat QB that actually has a lot of experience at QB? Use it.

Massaquoi had the drops his junior year but came on strong his senior year. There are some similarities with Braylon, maybe a better attitude but he's still learning the ropes. Now, that he's number one it will be interesting to see how he handles the double-teams, etc. One of Robo's issues has been the inability to get off of the line of scrimmage which pushed him back behind Massaquoi. No question that Massaquoi has the better speed. Robo probably could work well in the slot but there are going to be some growing pains at the #2. They're not going anywhere so they have all year to get their timing down with DA.

What you forsee could happen with Massaquoi and Robo as the go to receivers but I couldn't help but notice that Massaquoi dropped about every other pass that went to him Sunday. Not good.

I know that you are very knowledgeable when it comes to football put Bentley was pretty adamant that Joshua should just play special teams and that the Browns need to stop trying to fit him into their offense because professional football is tough enough without having to learn numerous positions. I am just reiterating what Bentley said on Sports Time Ohio.

would be interested in your take on what Bentley said about the two sides of the offensive line. Left being the finesse and the right side being the power side.

Edwards is a phantom to me too! :)

FYI At the 2009 NFL Combine Massoquoi ran a 4.66 forty.
Mass 40

Robo ran a 4.59.
Robo 40

Edwards did not run the 40 at the 2005 NFL combine.
According to post 52 in Braylon Edward's BP thread an article from the Detroit News reveals:

Edwards, who is 6-foot-3, 210 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds, . . .

If those times can be compared, i.e. equal conditions, track etc. then the straight line difference between Edwards 4.48 and Robo's 4.59 is .11 sec. or about 3 feet for 40 yard. For Massaqoi it is about 5 feet.

Mangini said today they are not looking to move Quinn at all...I am wondering if he is maybe thinking he'll be dealt in the offseason, considering it takes 6 months or so on average to sell a house.
