Cleveland Browns (2009 Season)

LeCharles Bentley was on Sports Time Ohio talkshow last night and had some pretty interesting things to say about the Browns.

He said that the Browns need to stick with a QB and quit playing musical chairs. He said that Anderson is a long ball thrower and the problem with that right now is that the Browns not have any deep threats so what good is Anderson's strong-arm. He did not say that they should start Brady but he did say that Quinn was a better intermediate passer than Anderson.

He also said that the Browns OL is all screwed up and that in the NFL there are really two sides of the line. The left side of the line is usually the Finesse side and that is where you put your pass blockers which he said that the Browns did have and said that Joe Thomas was probably the second best left tackle in the NFL. He said that the right side of the line is supposed to be the power side of the OL and that's where the Browns are extremely weak. I didn't play in the NFL so I why have to take Bentley at his word and leave that comment up to the guys who are more knowledgeable about offensive line play in the NFL.

He also said that it was pretty stupid to fine guys for taking a $3 bottle of water. He did say that there must be some discipline on the team but that is just stupid to fine someone $1700 for a $3 bottle of water. He also stated that he never filed a grievance as a player.

He also questioned the Browns roster about having so many New York Jets. He said that if these guys were good players the Jets would have never let them go. Makes sense to me. He also stated that you need a couple of superstars on your team for your team to be any good and he believed that the Browns traded both of their superstars in Winslow and Edwards. He said that sometimes you have to put up with a little bit of crap to keep superstars. He has a big fan of Edwards and thought that Edwards would show up big time in New York.

He also said some things about his knee which I will post later in his alumni thread.

So the Browns start 1-0, and Braylon starts 0-1.

In your fucking Iris, Braylon.

:slappy: Um, yeah, well...we'll take it.

I'm really interested to see what happens when the national spotlight isn't on the game. When the Jets play the Bills at 1 PM on ESPN 12, will he still make that catch? Methinks not.

Something I forgot to mention regarding Bentley's remarks is that he said Cribbs should play special teams and that is all. He said that there is too much to learn in professional football for a guy to try and be a every down WR and also be a major factor in special teams.
