Martin Rucker | 82 | TE
Rec Yards TD
84 834 8

Height: 6-6 Class-Eligibility: GS-Sr
Weight: 255 Born: 5/4/1985
Birthplace: St. Joseph, MO

Scouting Report

Rucker holds the Missouri tight end reception record with 119, and he is certainly on his way to catching passes in the NFL. His ability to line up at the slot makes him a tough cover, although he doesn't always utilize his size and has been known to get intimidated. Rucker wasn't used much in blocking formations, and his reputation as being 'soft' may cause NFL teams to look the other way on draft day. Rucker needs to show that he can live up to his potential.

Don't really like the trade of next year's third for Rucker who might end up being a 3rd TE on our team. Don't get that pick, but I like the Bell pick.

Might be worried that the Solja will hold out wanting more money. Rucker might be able to give them some of the downfield threat although he would be the backup to Heiden.

Athyba Rubin | 71 | DL

Height: 6-3 Class-Eligibility: Sr-Sr
Weight: 321 Born: 7/25/1986
Birthplace: Fort Belvoir, VA

Scouting Report

Rubin played two years at Iowa State after two years in junior college. At 6-foot-3, 320 pounds, Rubin has the size needed to be a defensive lineman in the NFL, but he is a classic project in the sense that his techniques and fitness will have to be overhauled and improved. Rubin does have some versatility after playing both the offensive and defensive lines in junior college, and was able to immediately step into a starter's role at Iowa State upon his arrival. Rubin is a very good run-stuffer, but lacks pass-rushing ability, and his lack of conditioning leaves him susceptible to being taken out of plays easily. He does have good lateral speed and plays hard, but is likely a fourth-round or later selection.
