it's not a big deal , his remark reminded me of all the whining being done back around draft time and how everyone didn't want BQ. So it's funny to me
Well, of course, my post wasn't directed at you specifically, it was really a paean about all those folks who say one thing in their first post - then immediately retract like Kerry in their second.

I still am upset with that pick.. much rather have picked up Troy in the 5th or Beck/Trent Edwards in the 3rd than traded away so much to get BQ (who won't be seeing the field again next year w/o an injury to DA)

I'm not sold on DA though.. he played awesome this past season, if he can continue into next year I'll become a believer.. not sold on his consistency.

I'm not sold on Romeo either.. would have liked to see him have another succesful year before locking him up.. reminds me of the Charlie Weis signing.. 'you almost got us to the playoffs Romeo, heres a 5 year deal.'

K2 has become one of my favorite Browns over the past couple of years. His dedication to the team, his teammates, is extraordinary. He is kinda like the heart and soul of the team IMO since his teammates obviously know the pain he has played through all year, yet one would never know by watching him on the field each week.

He is famous for the Tampa (Cover) 2 Defense and does a hell of a job at it. His defenses are usually in the top 5 each year in a variety of categories.
Yeah that's what I was thinking. He is one hell of a coach. If we got him it probably means we are scraping the 3-4. God I'd love that.

I wouldn't mind going back to the old 4-3 either but from what they are saying it looks like Mel Tucker is going to get the job with the Browns.

Cleveland Browns fire defensive coordinator Todd Grantham
Saturday, January 12, 2008
Tony GrossiPlain Dealer Reporter

Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham's firing by the Browns on Friday was a shocker for the following reasons:
He received a two-year contract extension in June.
At the time, General Manager Phil Savage said, "He's a terrific coach, and I would think he's got a big upside and has the potential to be a head coach in time."
Although the Browns gave up more points (382), total yards (5,753) and touchdown passes (29) than in either of Grantham's two previous seasons, the unit showed significant improvement during the team's run for the playoffs.
In the first 10 games, the defense gave up an average of 29.4 points per game. In the final six, it yielded 14.6.
In the first eight games, the defense recorded seven sacks. In the last eight, it had 21.
In the first nine games, the defense allowed 22 touchdown passes. In the last seven, it allowed seven.

"
A decision on a new defensive coordinator will be forthcoming."
It is expected that secondary coach Mel Tucker Jr. will be promoted to coordinator.

Tucker named defensive coordinator

Zac Jackson, Staff Writer 01.12.2008

Last January, the Browns struck gold by hiring a young coordinator who was an Ohio native and had previous ties to the Browns.
This year, they're hoping to do the same.
Mel Tucker was hired as the new defensive coordinator Saturday morning, a day after the team announced Todd Grantham would not return for 2008.
