Meh. I think you were the one who said it about Texas - they're annoying for a half a year, maybe even a full year. Then they fall back down and we can point and laugh. We can point and laugh now, before the fall, because we know it's coming. Like the teenage camper who goes off to be by herself in a horror movie - we know what's about to happen, and no amount of yelling at the movie screen is going to convince her to get back to her friends.

My dumb hayseed UC supporting cousin still continues to believe that Oregon looking bad is bad for OSU.

I keep trying to tell the goofy bastard that the B1G champ is in the playoffs this year, no matter who it is, and that a 1 loss Pac12 Champ Oregon is a lot worse for UC than it is for OSU.

If he's indicative of the fanbase then they've taken mental ownership of the idea that the current non-CFP polls somehow guarantee them a playoff spot.

My oh my are they ripe for a big surprise.

Yup. Plus, a difference from last year is the number of sports media dudes giving our program props. Herbie said last night during the TCU-Oklahoma game that he'd vote us #2. Granted, he's not an AP voter but more guys like him are looking at our tape and our success from last year and they see what we see - Cincinnati can play with ANYBODY this year. This Group of Five label bullcrap does not apply to us. We look and smell like all the other top power teams. Yeah, I'm talking to you Georgia and Bama.
