As a fan of football in general I'll say flat out that I was always shocked when I ran across a UC football fan when I lived in Cincy because from all accounts they were nonexistent.

I'm with you on that. I remember watching UC at Riverfront Stadium in the early 80's and being able to yell at the players and know they could hear me.

But there were always plenty of UC almnui/fans for the basketball team. That's what they had to cheer for. Ironic that the football got better about the same time that Dr. Zimpher was running Blobo out of town...

yeah, I have a problem with 700WLW doing this.

Not really a fan of taunting somebody you're not gonna play even if its just the radio station that covers the team.

what's the old saying? don't let your mouth write checks that your ass can't cash...?

this kinda takes away from what UC and Kelly have done to this point and as an alumn, I'm embarrassed by it.

This is EXACTLY why some OSU fans are annoyed with/don't want UC to succeed. Everyone who follows college football realizes that UC is having a better year than OSU so far in 2009. Yet for some reason, that's not enough--UC fans, players, and administration have shown that they can't have a little success without feeling the need to rip OSU in the process.

I am entirely sick of every bandwagon hopping UC'Ophile in the Queen City. The inferiority complex is shining through.

You've got a shot at a National Title and all you can think about is another school? Sounds like a GIGANTIC INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

Hard to act like you've been there before if you haven't been there...

I have relatives and friends who have attended the university. I'd like to see them succeed... but many of them give the EXACT same sentiment shown in this video and its hard to root for the Bearcats. I have no problem with the fans rubbing it in a bit, especially since UC has played like the better team so far this year, but to say they are Ohio's team is plain ignorance. I was about ready to say "Go Bearcats" after this past weekend (as far as wishing them well but by no means abandoning our Buckeyes) but I'm keeping it in reserve for a while longer.

Let's make something clear. 700 did not create that graphic. That graphic was created by the UC administration and has run on their scoreboard all year. F#ckin' Fredo schools nothing changes.

Cincy reminds me of some weak blowhard in high school who decides to talk [censored] to the toughest guy in class--when that guy's arm is in a cast. Guess what? That cast won't stay on forever, and the day of reckoning will come. And when that day comes Cincy, you're gonna look pretty funny tryin' to eat corn on the cob with no f#cking teeth!

Yesterday in Atlanta on 680 The Fan, Brian Kelly did an interview with Jim Donnan, and it was a good interview. He was humble, didn't take shots. Just talked about how he liked building the history at UC, liked that he wouldn't be compared to anyone like Richt to Donnan, Tressel to Hayes, etc., and could just coach his team. It was not like the other things we've seen from UCor 700WLW or whatever. The radio spot above will not bring tOSU fans to root for UC, if that was the objective, though I don't think it was. The only thing it will do is separate the fans of the programs even more, just like you'll see in the posts here.

if you say so. I don't recall seeing it at UC games this year, but I rarely pay attention the scoreboard from my vantage point...
...I just wish OSU coaches and players had your venom for Purdue last week. Frankly, as an OSU fan, I grow tired of the 'ho hum' attitude around the program...where in the hell is the hate and the killer instinct mentallity that once existed in the program?
Maybe more time should be spent discussing that than what Fredo fans are saying?

I used to go to a lot of those games too...tied 10-10 with the Hurricons at the half was awesome.

(Of course Miami scored 38 answered in the second half)

Brian Kelly's a good bit brighter than the folks at WLW, the UC administration or UC fans when it comes to handling success.

Ya, I don't care for WLW... the are a sensationalist station that occasionally broadcasts Bengals, Reds or Bearcats games.

My point was the video exemplifies the kind of attitude I've been hearing from the Bearcat fans since Saturday... makes it hard for me to root for them because of the fans, not WLW's stupid promos.
