The GCL coaches (Roddenberg, Specht and Ramsey at least) love him. It's the bitter old fans that hate him.

Dantonio laid the groundwork. Kelly was a salesman. Coombs is the one in the high schools and the players living rooms. Kelly had a few classes in the top 20 and I'm pretty sure Coombs was a big reason why.

That a majority of ignorant UC fans thumb their noses at the notion of Coombs being the coach confirms they are dumbasses. Or further confirms it for ORD. I can't stress it enough. High school coaches in the 513 are seriously pissed off at UC. They need a coach who knows this area, knows these coaches and can repair the bridges. If they go outside to get someone that can't find Colerain on a map or knows how to get to Price Hill Chili the program may as well fold.
