He might be in line for a Power 5 job soon, not sure he'd want to toil in faygoville, when he could wait another year and possibly get Texas Tech or something similar. I'm surprised his name hasn't popped up in Houston's search. They aren't power 5, but it's a much better job than the juggalos. Plus, he seems like a natural fit.
I've always thought of Texas Tech as one of the P5 coaching graveyards. Riley is probably better off putting in 3 years at Houston or some other AAC school. That is a more proven path to a top P5 coaching position. Not sure why you think Houston is a "much better" job than Cincy. Without Herman, they are pretty much Cincinnati South.

Just as some examples to back up my claims, UC provided a stepping stone for 3 head coaches to the P5 (Dantonio, Kelly, and Jones), albeit while we were in the Big East. Last year, Memphis head coach Justin Fuente took a job at Va Tech. This year, the AAC has Taggart from USF reportedly going to Oregon, Rhule from Temple going to Baylor, and Herman from Houston going to Texas. Who has the MAC sent to the P5? Matt Campbell went from Toledo to Iowa State last year. Has anyone else made a move from the MAC to the P5 recently? The smart move for a MAC head coach is to take a HC job in the AAC if it comes along, put in their three years, and then move up. The major P5 programs like to see success as a head coach at more than one place.
