Bury Kelly in ND where nobody can win, and replace one incompetant boob with another one.

Next thing you're going to tell me is that both will happen on my birthday

Truth be told if I had my way Weis and RRod would stay. I love those guys.
Who doesn't? I don't like the idea of Kelly at NoD. He's built Ohio ties and as good a recruiter Charlie the Hut has been, a guy with Kelly's proven track record in Suth Ben would make competition for Ohio guys even more stiff. Kelly would succeed at NoD.

Balderdash. tOSU is still a destination job. Coop may have tarnished that somewhat at the end of his tenure, but JT has built it back up. NoD has certainly lost it's luster, but it still has drawing power. scUM, depending on how this whole DickRod saga plays out, still should have drawing power. I recall an article on SI this summer detailing the best jobs out there in CFB and tOSU was in the top-3 (or, as they called it, "the gold standard") with Texas and USC.
and by coop you mean earle? and by earle you mean woody? and prior to woody it was the graveyard of coaches. oh wait, woody, bruce and coop got the boot and never went back to coaching. so yes, desirable, still a graveyard, though one that likely in analogous terms gets you a monument (in the college football hof) not a tiny headstone...

but honestly look back on the coop era, 95, 96, 97, 98 all hellacious teams (who struggled in the big one, with big time talent, etc), and compare to 03, 05, 06, 07, 08 and the only difference is the michigan record.

flatly put its a graveyard, a graveyard that many folks aspire to enter, none the less a graveyard...

Um, okay. If people's opinion of 4 head coaches in 59 years = graveyard. How is tOSU anymore a "graveyard" than Texas, USC, Oklahoma or any other big time program?

Let's compare tOSU's coaching history since 1950 to the other top programs. Of the top-10 programs of all time (measured either by 1-A wins, winning percentage, or AP poll appearances), only Penn State has had more coaching stability since 1950 than tOSU.

Coaching changes in the top-10 all-time programs since mid-1950:
1 - Penn State
4 - Ohio State
5 - TSUN
6 - Texas
7 - Nebraska
8 - Oklahoma
8 - Tennessee
8 - USC
9 - Alabama (not counting Joe Kines, who coached 1 game)
9 - Notre Dame (not counting Kent Baer, who coached 1 game)

When the last 4 coaches have a tenure of 28 years, 9 years, 13 years, and 9 years (and counting), flatly put, I think your last statement is absolute horseshit.

And why you think it's appropriate to spew such negativity about tOSU on this board, when it appears to me to be clearly unfounded, simply baffles me.

Bruce did coach after leaving OSU, albeit for only a couple more seasons.

Earle actually coached for another five years after tOSU, so that's just flat wrong. Where was Woody gonna coach at 66 years old after throwing that punch? Coop was 62 and I think if he really wanted to get back into coaching, he could have hooked on somewhere at a smaller school similar to what Earle did.
