Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

This is an oft quoted statement, but it would be a good time to revisit this. If you take a mouse and blow it up to the size of an elephant, its legs wont support their weight. The strength doesn't scale properly with size. There is a reason why elephants have legs the size of tree trunks. The human body is just not designed to hold that much weight. Seriously Chuck, what were you thinking...?

Easy. Two words--buffet table.

It seems the days of holier than thou Notre Lame are at least thinning out. It was assumed that they uphold "superior academic standards" and schedule tough opponents while turning down bowl games they don't feel are good enough for them to bless us with their presence. I would say the latter two are CLEARLY being abandoned while the former is becoming debatable. They clearly still think they're better than everyone else, but their reasons and excuses list is getting shorter.

Gotta say, right on all accounts except the academics. If anything, their academics are less debateable now than they ever have been:

Irish Football Honored Again For Graduation Rate :: Notre Dame one of seven schools to post graduation rate of 90 percent or better Graduation rates
Notre Dame Football Team Eclipses 3.0 GPA For Sixth Straight Semester :: Fourteen members of the team earned a place on the Dean's List 6th straight semester over 3.0 average GPA for the team

That being said, we're clearly trying too hard in the classroom, thats our problem. I expect Charlie to correct this with more practice and less time for studying. If this leads to the team failing out, thats fine, hopefully they'll win some games on the way out :wink2:

Quote from Joe DeLamielleure on the state of the Browns:

On overweight coaches: "Look at Romeo Crennel and that fat guy (Charlie Weis) at Notre Dame. It's absolutely ridiculous that they weigh more than offensive tackles. How do you tell your players it's a physical, tough game and you can't even jog across the field? That's an insult to a player.

Former NFLer referring to "that fat guy from Notre Dame". Nice to be known for who you are.

Come on, as Joe DeLamielleure probably already knows, the only thing Charlie is going to demand more of is intravenious hits of melted Crisco.

did you know that the name was originally to be 'crysto,' but was nixed as it was thought that it would appear to be nearly blasphemous. at any rate, it's short for 'crystallized cottonseed oil' which is what it is... and Charlie eats it by the spoonful. :p

Charlie Weis knee surgery successful

One down,one to go.
Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis underwent successful knee replacement surgery Monday on his right knee.
"The severe deterioration of the bone explains the severe pain he suffered the last three weeks," Dr. Willard G. Yergler of South Bend Orthopedics Associates said in a statement released by the school.
Yergler, the director of sports medicine for the football team, who performed the hour-long surgery.
"With the knee replacement, he'll start walking [Monday] afternoon," Yergler said in the statement.
Weis has months of rehabilitation ahead of him, including the prospect of surgery on his left knee, which was injured in Notre Dame's win over Michigan.

Now he has more new knees than signature wins in his ND career. So he's got that going for him.

Great News! Charlie has been released from the hospital and is now recuperating at home. Here's a picture of the successful move. Unfortunately, the assistant in charge became lost, and Charlie had to remove him from his duties and take over, hence the headset.

First of all, this story didn't mention once that Charlie is FAT...so I'll do it for them...Charlie is FAT!

Now...on to some nuggets from that "article":

Wood said that Weis was frank about Notre Dame?s struggles during an in-home visit Dec. 2. Earlier that day, Weis met with Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick, who decided to retain him as coach.
?We?ve got to turn things around,? Wood recalled Weis telling him.
Uh...saying "we've got to turn things around" is being frank? Hello...your program is a DISASTER...way to man up and tell the recruits "how it is" :shake:
That candor has resonated with other Notre Dame recruits like Chris Watt, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound offensive guard from Glen Ellyn, Ill., who played in Saturday?s game.
Weis has promised changes, but he did not elaborate on them, Watt said.
Candor? What candor? oh that we "have to turn things around" and promising changes but having ZERO details? :shake: Maybe he didn't have details because he hasn't talked to Belichick yet :shake:
?We?re going to secure Coach Weis?s job,? said Evans, who had one catch for 4 yards.
:slappy: Listen here Mr "I'm the 6th best receiver recruit in the draft"...if you think your FOUR YARDS are gonna save anyone, you are sadly mistaken.

Imagine Fat Charlie slips and falls from an elevated spot, he's holding on to a rope (for sake of argument we're ignoring the laws of physics that would cause his massive weight to rip his arms off should he be able to hold onto said rope) and needs the ND team to "secure" him from falling to his death (aka putting him out of his misery)...GOOD LUCK. It would take at least 2 full NCAA Division I (FBS, whatever) football teams to pull that lardass up! :slappy:

In summation: CHARLIE = FAT

Edit: OH WAIT! I almost forgot...this is all OLD news...Charlie beat HAWAII!1!1!! This program has ALREADY been turned around...mission accomplished! How dare those AP bastards not vote ND #1...prepare for ND to run the table next year!
