Happy New Year everyone.
1) FIRST AND FOREMOST: Before this season started, I thought we would have 3 losses easy, so the fact that we were even in the CFP was gravy. Once we get a little distance from this humiliating curbstomping, I think we'll be able to look back on the season as a whole fondly.
2) However, it's clear that we did not belong in the CFP. I don't know what our offensive identity is, but it looked like we were trying to out-Clemson Clemson. Also, force-feeding the "only" playmaker on the team just plays into the opposing defense's strengths. Also, if we're supposed to be a tempo team, where is the tempo? I understand the youth, but if you go up-tempo and keep the playcalling simple, it should negate that youth somewhat. But if you're slowing things down and snapping with :01-:05 seconds left on the play clock each time, that let's the defense adjust to you and really gets rid of the entire reason for having a smaller playbook. Our defensive identity is established. We stay "basic" but throw a lot from that basic look. We need an identity on offense. We need to dictate the game to the defense, not the other way around. Also..."Clemsoning" is no longer a thing. Makes me sad.
3) Can we get one big game where the opposing punter doesn't have a 60+ boot that flips field position?
4) Special teams: need a kicker.
