Michigan fired RR late in the game early January. Hoke not only saved most of the class, but scrambled nicely and picked up many good players late in the process. If Fickell stays as coach, we should know by November. If they bring in someone else, this decision will be made well before 1/1/12. There will be no shortage of candidates. Plenty of time to put together a respectible class.
I agree 100% with this.
We see this:
-- the 2011 season goes well (we see a Drayton stamp on the offense and we pound people and the defense will be, as expected, fantastic)
-- there will definitely be clarity about the coaching situation
-- The NCAA decision is handed down (I suspect LESS than USC -- vacate some wins, lose maybe a handful of scholarships, no bowl in 2011)

I believe that opposing coaches are recruiting negatively (every one at OSU is crooked, they are going to get the death penalty, you'll never play in a bowl game, you'll never play on TV, etc). Heck, I would probably take that approach too. Honestly, when all the punishments are handed down, all those tactics will probably be ineffective.
We ARE a long way from NLOISD and frankly, after everything sorts itself out, I think we get a lot of the people to 'flip back' to liking OSU again (Kalis, Washington, Stanford, maybe Pittman, maybe McMullen).
